Fix the Economic Mess

First, I really don’t need to trash Buck n’ Bennet, they have spent millions doing a good job of it on TV.

Second, I have now gone across the state and talked, toe-to-toe, face-to-face, eye-to-eye with over 50,000 people asking them what the #1 issue was keeping them up at night, and over and over they are saying, “How are you going to Fix the Economic Mess?”

We really don’t have any real answers from Buck n’ Bennet. The last time they addressed this issue in the Denver Post, they both referred to a “Balance Budget Amendment.”

Well, that makes sense since the last one took over 200 years to pass, and realistically you will be looking at over two years even at the most conservative estimates.

I opened up my brief speech the Old Fashion Political Ralley in Loveland, Oct. 12th, specially on this issue.

We must again REAP what we sow, so I call my plan REAP, R.E.A.P.

R is for Restoring confidence in our American political system again. The only way to solve this mess is to get the two parties working together again. Now, you need someone who will fight, as President Clinton put it, in a “third way.”  I see this “third way politics” as the only way to “Stop the Insanity.” Unaffiliated, is the political option for the 21th century.

E is for Economic stability and growth. We have to focus on balancing the budget and reducing our national debt, and this can be achieved in less than four years. Look, applying “third way politics,” President Clinton accomplished a 1.3 trillion dollar balancing. Yes, everyone regardless of parties helped. One important thing is to do what works. Focus on elimination of abuse, fraud, waste, mismanagement and have full accountability. Entitlement to empowerment is not about not enforcing our immigration laws, its about ending the current welfare state and system of exploitation involving illegals. This alone is a 1.5 trillion dollar problem.

A is for the Abundance that will come to every person in Colorado and the US when we focus on bringing back jobs and creating new ones, through supporting small businesses, our local colleges and universities, local governments, state and federal agencies and most of all our private industries. How do we do this?

Implement and create REAP, Research Energy Alternatives Park in Colorado, such as that one in North Carolina, the Research Triangle Park. That park employs over 40,000 workers with wages that bring in over 1.5 billion dollars into the communities and state. It works there it will work here.

P is for the Prosperity that comes from being fully employed with great wages so you can pay all your bills and have money left over to spend. We are at a crossroads where getting rid of what has been already accomplished won’t work. Nor will further bailouts of the financial institutions who violated our trust with predatory and illegal activities, which frankly they need to be held accountable for.

We have an economic mess that will take serious work, but most of all we need a US Senator who will fight on the Senate floor and in the middle of the aisle. This post would be way to long to fully outline what needs to be done.

Unlike Buck n’ Bennet I directly worked in banking when the bank failures rivaled the Great Depression. There were no bailouts. The Financial Council of 10 (5 dont vote) will have to step forward. Unfortunately, when Gietner and Bernanke come forward and address the role of illegal immigration in this current crisis, you won’t be happy. Personally, I could be wrong here, I see that agency moving to the fiscal strategies that those institutions will not like. One, a moratorium on interest from all non-performing loans. Two, putting people in jail, look, over 1,000 people were charged and convicted of federal crimes during the S&L crisis. I know, I know, Neal Bush skated, but I saw how we handled Silverado Savings as well as Lincoln Savings. This can be done, we can turn this around in short time.

Cutting Social Security or our defense is wrong, period. We can correct Medicaid is almost 1.5 trillion dollars alone if you add in what our states pay.

I can say, I rather have “Vision” and ideas versus political rhetoric and plans which won’t work like Buck n’ Bennet suggest. You can always listen to my over 20 radio shows on a wide variety of these issues at.
