Colorado Republicans State Chair: Bob's View on the Challengers

Update: It turns out Matt Arnold is not Dan’s secret candidate, but Leondray is. I have modified everything accordingly.

We’re less than a month away from deciding the new officers for the Colorado GOP. I haven’t seen much analyst on every candidate and potential candidate, so I figured I would fill the void

Senator Ted Harvey*: Already getting the endorsements for various state legislators. He was one of the first supporters of Tancredo’s gubernatorial bid, this may help or hinder. Harvey also receives home field advantage because the State Assembly in Douglas County (very convenient).

Matt Arnold: Matt Arnold hasn’t announced yet, but I heard from very reliable sources that he is announcing.Considering all the effort he put into Clear the Bench, Matt would be a great choice. Assuming my sources are correct, I have to question what Dan’s endorsement brings to the table other then pain and sorrow.

Ryan Call*: It doesn’t bother me that Ryan donated to a Democrat in 2007, or that he’s a Republican from Denver. My question is will the rest of the state care?

Vice Chair Leondray Gholston*: Leondray was Vice Chair during the debacle of the last race. Surprisingly he didn’t say much, which is disappointing. He also has declared he will be a part time chair. He just got Dan Mae’s endorsement. I have to question what Dan’s endorsement brings to the table other then pain and sorrow.

Cleve Tidwell: I only include Cleve her because of a Statesman Story about him considering a run. When asked Cleve said “No I am not running, who would even want that job?” So I’m guessing that’s a no from Mr. Tidwell.

Bart Baron: Full Disclaimer, Jeremy Goodall and I have been friends for over 4 years. I’ve just always been annoyed when you find out some secret connection later on.

I like the fact Bart is the only person who has a slate, and his experience in being trained by Unions to run against a Democrat is interesting. He had a fairly detailed document on what his strategy would be, which I have yet to see from any of the other candidates.
