5,000 Pissed Off Americans March on Wall Street, and very little Mainstream Coverage!

  • by: Whiskey Lima Juliet

I was surprised to find this out via Facebook!

NYPD closes Wall Street and over 5,000 people march and barely a mention from NBC, CBS, ABC, MSNBC or CNN.  WHY?

9 yr. old Sam knows America is corrupt…

“They’re just doing the reverse of Robin Hood. They’re stealing from the poor for all their things to live and giving it all to the rich! It makes no sense!”

Ad nauseam, we heard about Michele Bachman’s stupid comments, we saw two plane crashes and we argued about Obama finaly taxing the rich instead of 85 year old grandmothers on medicare, but so little about this.

The UK Guardian covered it!

http://www.guardian.co.uk/comm…

Our leaders are getting richer, yes, even the ones you like, at our expense.  Now, our media has decided what they will cover.

  1. This was organized by Adbusters, once an awesome group and now sadly a huge joke. They promised 20,000 people occupying Wall Street for a month. They got 700-5,000 showing up on a weekend. They launched this with no idea what they’re actually demonstrating for. There’s actually a poll on their Facebook page asking what their top “demand” should be, with options including “abolish capitalism” and “a four day work week.” To supporters’ credit, the top-voted option is “eliminate corporate personhood,” but the organizers showed themselves to be amateurish fools by allowing overtly anti-capitalist ideas to be on the same list, published by them, as a good idea like eliminating corporate personhood. Just hands the neocons ammunition.

(I was considering diarying about these protests this morning, did some research, and decided that for once the MSM made the right decision not to cover them. Shame they didn’t make the same call when the equally ridiculous Tea Party first formed.)

  2. Even more of a story that a poorly put together event still brought out 5,000 people.

This goes to the level of frustration America is feeling.  I really feel like the politicians are out of touch.

All weekend i watched cable news and all they talked about was if Obama would be re-elected.   All i could think about was, who cares… by 2012, i will be bankrupt if things don’t change. Who is in the White House no longer matters to me. If America is stupid enough to elected Perry, so be it.  Now what are we going to do about small business, taxes, the death penalty and healthcare?

  3. RT tends to take things out of context–like Al Jazeera in the past (AJ English is pretty good now). The main thing RT has going for it is that the hot news anchors–far better than any other network.

The Guardian carries a lot more weight for me, when I see something like this in The Guardian I believe it.

    1. You understand that Fidel Castro is Cuban not Russian, correct?

      (Also see posters comment:

      Thanks for multiple sources.

And consider your posts via the preview button before finalizing.  It might make you appear less idiotic).

I don’t particularly care for RT, find them a bit like Faux News.
