Fairfax, Va. – The National Rifle Association Political Victory Fund (NRA-PVF) is announcing its endorsement of Joe Coors for U.S. House of Representatives in Colorado’s 7th District in the November 6 general election.“Joe Coors is committed to protecting our Second Amendment freedoms and hunting heritage,” said Chris W. Cox, chairman of NRA-PVF. ”Because of his strong support of our rights, Joe Coors has received an “AQ” rating and endorsement from the NRA-PVF. We urge all NRA members and gun owners in Colorado’s Seventh District to vote Joe Coors for U.S. House of Representatives in the November 6 election.”
Joe Coors is a member of the (wait for it!) Coors family, whose family philanthropic foundations (Coors Foundation et al.) have given huge sums of money to right-wing groups and causes like the National Rifle Association for decades. So if it’s a news story any time one of the many conservative groups funded by the Coors family endorses Joe Coors, there are gonna be a lot of news stories. It would be easier to write one story saying “here are all the groups funded by Coors,” and then people will just know when they get the press releases what’s up with that.

Does this hold true for all the campaign donors for Obama who made money off his first term?
The situations aren’t alike in any way.
It’s less honorable for Obama to plunder what he doesn’t own and taxpayers paid for than for Coors to fund groups he agrees with.
That makes a TON of sense.

If Joe Coors wasn’t a beer, he would be a no-name rich guy trying to get himself elected to Congress with no resume and talking points directly from the daily Republican fax on what to talk about today. He’s embarassing. His commercials are embarassing. He’s a smart guy. He does run a good company. Why is it that he thought he could be a politician. I actually feel sorry for the guy getting such bad advice that makes him look like a buffoon.
Sounds suspicious to me. To right-minded Americans, there’s only one possible thing “Q” stands for.
