Obama in Fort Collins: "Don't Boo, Vote"

In case you missed it, President Barack Obama’s stump speech in Fort Collins in its entirety courtesy 9NEWS:

The Fort Collins Coloradoan’s Patrick Malone recaps today:

Embracing the future, federal health care reform and the youth movement, President Barack Obama on Tuesday challenged Colorado State University students to register, to vote and to move America forward.

A cheering crowd of about 13,000 people greeted Obama as he made a campaign appearance at CSU in Fort Collins. Drawing strong contrasts with his Republican rival, Mitt Romney, Obama vowed to protect health care reform, close the federal deficit and push for greater use of alternative energy…

U.S. Interior Secretary Ken Salazar, a Colorado native, followed Gov. John Hickenlooper to the stage to warm up the crowd of thousands for Obama’s campaign speech.

Hickenlooper told the mostly young crowd that the president represents their interests and deserves re-election.

“Barack Obama has your back,” Hickenlooper said, evoking uproarious cheers from the audience.

Meanwhile, reports the Loveland Reporter-Herald:

Chris Walker, a Romney campaign spokesman, said organizers counted more than 100 supporters on the grass outside the bus.

Former Colorado Lt. Gov. Jane Norton spoke to the crowd of mostly college students, followed by Aslinn Scott, the 20-year-old co-chairwoman of the Colorado branch of Young Americans for Romney.

“In the course of 31/2 years, my generation has not only seen high debt but skyrocketing unemployment,” the University of Colorado junior said…

Are we the only ones surprised that the woman once thought to be the GOP’s greatest hope for winning a U.S. Senate seat didn’t even rate a single quote in coverage of her speech in Fort Collins opposite the President of the United States? We’ve been looking for a news story with something more than a name-only mention she was present. Haven’t found one yet.

Of course, if it was a typical Jane Norton speech, it just might not have been worth quoting.
