UPDATED UPDATE: We’ve gotten several comments asking us to explain the math behind the odds. We don’t do math so good, so instead here are some examples of how the odds compare to percentages:
1-9 means you have a 90% chance of winning
1-4 is 80%
2-3 is 60%
1-1 is even money, obviously
After 1-1, just flip the fractions. If 2-3 is 60%, then 3-2 is 40%.
We try to make the odds add up to 100%, but it’s harder to do when there are more than two candidates in a particular race.
