AURORA – Bryce Murphy hopped off his skateboard for a moment to ponder the question.

A solidly middle-class hair stylist in Denver, Murphy supported Barack Obama four years ago, but considers himself a potential Mitt Romney vote this year

Americans are demanding jobs. Obama’s Super PACs need to step up. Their massive ad buys are failing. Just yesterday the Chipolte manager that took Mitt Romneys order said he was nothing like the media portrays him … Obama Super PACs need to address why hairstylists like Bryce and Chipolte employees must vote for Barack.

Why don’t they have his back?

Why are they saying: Get us back to work, then leave us alone

Is the electorate going rogue or did the Post just go searching for people who are predisposed to MittRomney?

No solutions, blames others, avoids facts, creates straw men, blames others…..rinse and repeat.

After he’s re-elected, who’s he going to blame for the previous 4 years?

The $billions in Obama Super PAC ads just haven’t helped me connect to the President. I didn’t vote for him last time and just can’t see how I’ll do it this year either.

Don’t get me wrong, I hope Obama would govern like Clinton, but I’ve have been shocked that he’s left of Carter and worse he blames everyone else for his failures.

      It’s quite sad.

Madonna asked everyone in the audience of her Washington, DC performance Monday night to vote for President Obama because he is a “black Muslim.”

Y’all better vote for f**king Obama, OK? For better or for worse, all right?” the shouted from stage while sipping from a bottle of water with a straw. ”

“We have a black Muslim in the White House! Now that’s some amazing s**t.”В

Madonna, 54, also stripped down to her bra to reveal “Obama” stenciled in big letters on her back, before promising (or warning?): “When Obama is in the White House for a second term I’ll take it all off.”

President Obama is not a Muslim.

I, and I’m sure I’m not alone, really don’t appreciate you taking so much space as I scroll downward looking for signs of intelligence.

why the f*ck does anyone take the time to respond to the turd?  What do YOU get out of it?

The trolling turd shows up daily and desires — craves humiliation.  This guy must really hate himself.  By responding to or paying attention to the troll you’re feeding his fix.  The daily belittling, humiliation and put downs play to the trolls psychopathy.

Does the troll actually desire humiliation or is that the only way he knows how to get attention. This troll ain’t a 4 yr old, so there’s NO nurture it’s gonna get from anyone here to help cure the masochism.  В I don’t pity this assmole one bit and am sure as hell tired of anyone giving credence to its presence.

        • Libertad says:

Now I do feel sorry for you. It’s unfortunate that the facts, quoted statements, political implications and US Govt finanical data happen to cast a large and disturbing shadow over your claims to economic success, prosperity and freedom under Barack Obama.

It must be mind blowing to think that just 4 years ago you had it all. Obama only needed to manage the nation from the center left and all would be right …. he’d have two terms, etc….

Unfortunately Obama, his advisors and leading Democratic policy makers such as Ried and Pelosi have stepped on it.

8.3% unemplloyment, 50 million Americans on food stamps, 1 in 6 Americans living below the poverty line.

Hey I’m bitter too, for actually believing that Obama might properly lead our nation and set a new standard as was done by T. Roosevelt, Trueman, Eisenhower, Reagan, Clinton and Bush.

You need to demand accountability from political leaders. Turn that bitterness to your advantage and seek accountability as I do.

After all don’t you want to know where Obama’s $1T in stimulus went?

Don’t you want to know why after Obama’s stimulus we still have 8.3% unemployment?

I hope this advice helps you get over your bitterness and redirect your life in a more purposeful direction.

Facts about the financial condition of the United States of America:

      US GDP = $15.5 trillion

US Treasury Debt = $16 trillion

Debt to GDP is now over 100%

      US Revenues = $2.3 trillion

      US Expenses = $3.6 trillion

      Annual Deficit = $1.3 trillion

Our annual deficit ($1.3T) is increasing our outstanding debt ($16T) by 10% per year. This is a completely unsustainable path.

For every 1% increase in interest rates, the cost to finance our debt will increase by $160 billion per year.

      - that $160B increase equals 10% of our annual deficit

      - that $160B increase equals nearly 5% of our annual revenues ($2.3T)

The current borrowing cost of the U.S. is at historic lows and represents 6% of our annual spending.  The probability is a near certainty that rates will rise given our current path.

So, do you feel Obama has taken us to the fiscal cliff for a looksie? Remember he’s added almost $6T in debt in 4 years.

Back to interest rates, interest expense and borrowing costs. If rates rise by only 5%, then we will need to direct 25% of our annual current revenues to simply fund the increase in our borrowing costs.

To put this in perspective, the increase alone is the same amount we spent on all of Medicare and Medicaid in 2011, it was more than the entire Defense Department budget in 2011, and it was more than we spent on Social Security in all of 2011.

So 4 years down the road and our failed-to-lead President Obama is asking us to move forward with him … you know get his back.

Here are some solutions you leftists have proposed … of course the impacts are covered too.

      1. If we repeal all of the Bush tax cuts it will add only $100 billion in revenue.

      2. We could double taxes on individual income and still not close the current budget deficit. Let alone begin to repay our debt.

      3. What about spending?  Eliminating the entire Defense Department budget of $700 billion would only reduce our annual deficit by just over 50%!  Throw in all discretionary spending and you get close to balancing the budget but stop short of repaying any debt.

      These are the facts.

Obliviously Obama has worked on the margins and spent $s Trillions to accomplish little besides announcements, dreams and hopes that he recycled from his 2007-2009 whistle stop tour.

      Back to reality ….

8.3% unemployment for 44 straight months

Nearly 50 million citizens on foodstamps

      14% unemployment rate for African-Americans

      - unemployment for women, latinos, etc… not far behind

      - unemployment for recent college grads much higher

Ask yourself how many people you know are unemployed, underemployed or have taken 10-50% cuts in pay.

    http://www.nytimes.com/2012/10

(You might need an account at NYT to read this.)

DENVER – For every five commercials Mitt Romney and his allies ran here in this vital swing state in the last two weeks of September, President Obama and Democrats ran seven, accusing Mr. Romney of having a “tough luck” attitude toward the middle class and asserting that Mr. Obama has brought the economy back from the brink.

In Florida, the disparity was greater. The number of pro-Obama ads outnumbered pro-Romney ads by almost 50 percent – some 13,000 of them accusing Mr. Romney of outsourcing jobs to China, trying to gut Medicare and hiding his tax returns from the public. …

Unlike the Obama campaign, which uses a large outside time-buying firm with about two dozen people working on the account, the Romney campaign, in an effort to save money, buys time with what is effectively an in-house operation that has at times seemed to rest on the shoulders of a single deputy, several people who have dealt with it say.

Apparently Mitt is saving up for a big blitz this month. But it might be too little, too late.

  7. BlueCat says:

“Open Thread” than “Presidential Debate Day Open Thread” but there is a possible tie in, taking into consideration Santorum’s remark about how Romney, and I guess Rs by extension, aren’t going to get the smart person vote.  A stretch, I know but here goes.

Todd Akin, of magical rape activated spermicide fame, has now said that doctors, at least evil abortionist doctors, perform abortions on women who aren’t even pregnant.  Clearly he doesn’t mean they do this by accident which would involve failing to first ascertain whether or not a woman is pregnant before initiating the procedure. No, he means they purposely perform abortions (or at least try to. I don’t know how one aborts an imaginary embryo)on non-pregnant women. As usual, he offers no proof.

    Two questions:

    1) How is that supposed to work?

    2) How opposite of smart do Missouri voters have to be to account for this moron still being neck and neck in the polls?

    http://www.huffingtonpost.com/

Maybe they perform pretend abortions on women who think they are pregnant but can’t be because they were legitimately raped?

    • AristotleAristotle says:

is that people will stick with whatever moron their party might nominate, barring a truly freak occurrence in the race (e.g., when Tancredo stepped in to save Colorado Republicans from the ignominy of the Dan Maes nomination).

That said, anti-abortion people tend to be both very passionate and very illogical about their views, so it’s possible that this assclown isn’t hurting himself with these things. (Well, other than prompting donors nationwide to give to his opponent.)

    about this.

Mitt Romney is considering appointing a man who oversaw the implosion of a major Wall Street firm and got himself a $35,000 toilet while doing it as Treasury Secretary.

John Thain, the former CEO of Merrill Lynch, is on Romney’s short list of possible Treasury Secretary picks, the Wall Street Journal reports. He paid his executives massive bonuses before selling Merrill Lynch to Bank of America during the height of the financial crisis with the help of government bailout money. He tried to snag a $10 million bonus for himself as the firm was collapsing, and he even spent $1.2 million on remodeling his office — including on a $35,000 toilet — as Merrill Lynch was imploding. Bank of America CEO Ken Lewis pushed Thain out in January of 2009.

Now on to spending, deficit, debt….

  19. Libertad says:

Obama struggled through his presentation of the facts, citing that they cut lots by finding lots of waste fraud and abuse.

Romney asks Obama … You’ve saved all this money, why do we still run a trillion+ $ deficit It’s been four years Mr. President!

Obama wants to spin the roulette wheel of taxation and promise some LT spending cuts.

Romney suggests the way to float all boats is to raise the tide with private sector job growth … We’ll actually raise government tax receipts that way so that we can begin to make a dent in the Obama debt bomb.

  20. Libertad says:

He hates being schooled and it’s showing … lips pursed, nostrils flaring.

Now the President is asserting that social security is sound …. Ah Barack, the SS trust fund hold $4T+ in national debt and youre plan doesn’t even approach making a dent in the principle.

Ah Houston … we have a problem here.

No real differences here … No one is whacking the old folks …. well except that Obama stole $716B from Medicare to pay for Obamacare.

Barack … You promised to bend the cost curve downward …. why haven’t you?

Barack regaining his feet, now talking vouchers. ARRP is his friend. Now asserting you can’t repeal Obamacare because it will automatically raise seniors drug prices by $600 year.

Obama still not addressing the impact of competition, but Romney is and it’s showing.

      ….is a regressive tax.

The Realtors would have you believe that it is a powerful motivator to move renters to home ownership.  Not even hardly (except in the halls of congress.)

People buy houses because they want to, first, and then they can.  The interest deduction is not a huge financial boon, especially the new homeowner now has taken over all maintenance.

And certainly no deduction for second, third, or fourth homes.  It may already be the case, I”m no tax expert.  \

The deduction should be phased out over a number of years and the tax rate lowered or some revenue neutral swap.

When I bought my first place, I was actually looking for a place to rent but saw a HUD open house (this was after the S&L blowup) (which, come to think of it, occurred during a Republican administration just like the most recent housing blowup … hmmm).  I talked to the Realtor and learned that I could buy it and have payments a little over what I had budgeted for rent, but with the mortgage interest deduction, I could afford the extra payment.  If I hadn’t gotten the deduction, I wouldn’t have been able to afford to buy.
