What?! I-25 Will Be Closed Tonight?!

Hopefully you’re not just realizing this now. Aren’t you glad you watch the news?

9NEWS has some helpful tips for navigating the city while Interstate 25 is closed this evening from 5:00PM to 10:00PM for the presidential debate at the University of Denver:

Alternate routes like C-470, Interstate-225, Santa Fe Drive and Hampden Avenue are the official alternate routes to the Interstate 25 closure.

However, when those get crowded, you’ll need alternates for the alternates…

Don’t worry, 9NEWS has a great list of alternate routes for your alternate routes as needed. Or, beautiful weather is forecast today in Denver, freak out Dan Maes and ride your bicycle.

Our non-metro readers can relax and reflect happily on why they live elsewhere.

Advise….for those on bikes or in cars

N-S: Monoco, Quebec, Broadway, Downing, Federal, Platte Canyon, St. Paul

    E-W: Alameda, Yale

Avoid Colorado and Hampden …. they’re normally jammed

Not just the ones that are directly affected by this closure (with the possible exception of Yale, which is a minor arterial and the only one along the stretch that doesn’t lead one back to DU), but probably every one from I-70 to C-470.

I live in the SW part of town. My wife works from home today. We aren’t even going to leave the neighborhood today. Sometime this afternoon I’m going to open Google maps with the traffic option checked, and see just how many miles of red and black we’re going to see all over town.

Frankly, closing such a long stretch seems like overkill. I don’t see why they couldn’t restrict the closure to the stretch from Broadway to Colorado Blvd.

They(guberment) are just trying to remind you who is really in control. Of course the closure makes no sense, has no justification, counterproductive and only adds to the deficit.

Didn’t think any pollsters had the nards to stand up to authority, Aristotle you surprised me.

          You are SUCH a jerk…

          and it’s “nads”…lose the “R”.

but then..I guess you just can’t do that.

Sick of asinine prattle from an ill-informed and totally perverted source. You, too, make a mockery of intelligence and respect. You make up shit and try to drown out the truth with endless streams of your “facts”. And I will not quietly listen to Nocks’ insults.

Van Dammer is right about how disgusting you are. Without any dignity or respect, you use this site to spread lies and erroneous crap. Few have the patience to continually rebut (never acknowledged) the endless stream of excrement emanating from your arrogant, racist fingers.

You are, in short, a liar…nothing more than that. If you possessed a shred of dignity, you would be ashamed to be such an unethical, objectional fool…but you don’t.

It is clear…you need to get a life. It must be a sad thing to have no more identity than to be a dishonest, craven troll. I hope they pay you well.

GW closed down portions of Denver and Englewood at least twice that I can recall.  Just showing off his power, right?

I presume that the Secret Service thinks it makes sense and has justification.  I agree that it may or may not, but they don’t take any chances, eff the inconvenience of the citizens.

Ari tries to provide some useful information and finds himself jammed between two pinhead morons.

Great object lesson here, folks . . . stay home today — who needs what might become an f’n mess everywhere?  It’s way too nice, on what looks to be one of our last great Indian summer days this year, to waste any bit of your day stuck between a Nock and a ‘Tad place . . .

Bikes and scooter will be very handy.

Forgot my blue UN helmet at home but I figured I’ll get home faster today by bicycle than by car. I mostly go east-west (Lakewood to Aurora and back) but I figure, with I-25 closed, there will be plenty of surface street traffic moving east and west to the next available north-south artery mucking things up.
