Bumper Sticker Shelf Life

  • by: Colorado Pols

Alright, Polsters, we’ve got a serious etiquette question for you.

(Okay, maybe not so serious, but humor us)

We’ve all stared at a plethora of bumper stickers related to the 2012 election, but what’s the etiquette for removing the sticker? Should they all be removed after Election Day, or is it okay to leave the winning candidate on your bumper for awhile?

Vote after the jump.

When Should You Remove Political Bumper Stickers?

  1. no bumper stickers.  I noticed my Romney supporting neighbors took their bumper stickers and yard signs down rather quickly, like within a few hours.

Of course, there are some huge eyesore Romney signs on 36 that the assholes who put them up completely forgot about.  Those R’s are so personally responsible and classy to the end about everything.

I know this is about bumper stickers, but the yard signs have to go too.

  2. I took my “Bin Laden is Dead and GM is Alive” sticker off a week after the election.  However, I love for the losers to keep their’s on for a long time, it just makes me feel good all over to be able to say “LOSER” everytime I pass one.  Sometimes if they’re bad drivers too, I give them the finger.  I can’t tell you how theraputic both things are after a long, frustrating disgusting election season.  It always makes me remember brothers, stupid ditto heads that they are.

    Glorious.

  3. We have two neighbors on our block who still have yard signs up: one Obama and one Romney. I feel like going out early one morning, taking them both down, and leaving a bag of cookies or something. It’s ridiculous.

  4. You know, the “Secret Muslim,” “O” with a slash through it, etc. etc. Look, he’s been elected to his second term and you’re stuck with him unless you can somehow get your state to secede: so get over it!

  5. I’m not sure why, but some people out here (western Garfield County) kept their McCain/Palin bumper stickers on for nearly three years.  This year, the Romney stickers have vanished but there are still a good number of Obama/Biden stickers to be seen.  Including mine.

  6. But those on my mailbox will stay on until rain or snow or dark of night peel them off. My letter carrier likes knowing there’s someone here that supports her and her fellow carriers.

  7. I finally got around to putting on some of this year’s stickers at the beginning of the summer, which meant I finally covered over Betsy Markey and Ken Gordon….

  8. I moved mine yesterday away from the front, over to the side.

On the national level, I’ve got Obama, Paul, Romney, Stein and Santorum.  Couldn’t get a Gary Johnson.  Don’t think Goode printed any.

Locally, I’ve got Marrs, Tancredo, Arnold, Blaha and Skorman, plus 64 and a local tax issue.

They set my Christmas decoratons and American flags off nicely.
