    kind of person, however, I saw this episode of Frontline the other night . . . this year will not pass without me finding some way to work to assist some of the homeless children in our community.

    If you can spare 53 minutes and 39 seconds of your life in between some of the football at the end of this miserable year, I strong encourage you to give this a viewing.

    Some people have every right to be scared.  Like people entirely dependent on unemployment in a sluggish recovery.  Like doctors who take care of Medicare/Medicaid patients.  Members of the military who want payment for risking their lives to be available in a timely fashion.

    Everybody’s payroll taxes are going up 2%, but it will be even worse as we fall further down the fiscal speed bump.

    But here’s the deal, dunderhead, this is a crisis manufactured by the politicians, maintained by the politicians, and entirely treatable by the politicians, if they cared at all.  Which apparently they don’t.

    Boehner and McConnell’s only goal seems to be to prevent Obama from having a third term.

    There’s an advertiser on Sirius claiming to know about the coming economic collapse, which includes, “Yes, Obama’s third term.”

    Thanksgiving dinner w/ our in-laws (all very conservative) that we should feel proud to have participated in Americas’ last presidential election…that Obama was going to pull what we now call a “Morsi” on us and decide he would be president as long as he wants, declare marshal law, and end the election process…

    You really can’t make this shit up..you wouldn’t think anyone could be that stupid.

    I actually went and opened Nockie’s link.  It’s a brief, pretty objective, um, observation that there is no fiscal cliff.

    I was trying to inject minor humor, that the Mayan end of times was off, they should have had it as when we fall offa that cliff.

    “Fiscal Cliff” is a term coined by the right wing media to scare the American public.  It has worked very well.  Just look at yourself, and millions of niggardly Christmas shoppers.

    Remember what we lefties used to say during the Iraq War runup and War on Tareism? “Be afraid, very afraid.”

    Hint:  Don’t be.

    From about 2002 on, they all proclaimed that W (or maybe Cheney) was going to declare martial law and cancel the 2004 and 2008 elections.  Crazy runs strong on all sides.
