Completed a hunter safety course and biathlon certification (and raced), but the only gun in the house is a pellet gun.

  2. Arvadonian1Arvadonian1 says:

    Yes.  Four, in fact.

  3. Gray in Mountains says:

not sure how many, but at least 20

  4. Diogenesdemar says:

    123 voters??  Really???

. . . is it just cynical, suspicious little old me, or is there something not quite right with this vote and tally??

    • harrydobyharrydoby says:

I discovered the reason for the high vote tally.  The poll resets everytime you are logged out and have to log back in. So I was able to vote twice — no need for a sockpuppet.

Not unless you changed locations. The poll plugin is designed to allow one vote per account or one per IP (only logged to prevent duplicates). If you log out and changed IP, you may be able to vote in the poll twice.

Which makes it as secure as most other unscientific online novelty polls. It may not be suitable for FPE elections but it works for this purpose.

Must have been some sort of fluke — I did vote from the same computer.

Sitting at home I have one laptop for work and the other for personal use.  Never the twain shall meet.

You libtards are hilarious! What's the matter, can't handle the truth? Hehehe.

            • Diogenesdemar says:

That pretty much confirms my suspicions . . .

            • Arvadonian1Arvadonian1 says:

"Libtards".  That is so funny!  You combined "liberal" with "retarded" as a way to insult liberals by comparing them to people who have developmental disabilities…thus finding a new way to use the word "retarded" as an insult…and then finished it off with the classic "Hehehe".  Neat!  Your parents must be so proud!

So, do you think you could find a way to make "cancer" an insult, or have you exhausted your creativity with this little gem?

My unsolicited advice to you:  Grow the fuck up or leave the policy discussions to the adults.

My own advice would be to not rise to the bait. This was kiddie league trolling, even by 2005 standards.

                • roccoprahn says:

True enough Ari, but it's just the way it is.

What I mean is, goober trolls like this "redco" bring out the mischievious in all of us.

A couple weeks ago, this skidmark ran the tough guy gun goon schtick, but when asked directly if he had satisfied his military obligation, he was faced with a lose-lose proposition.

Had he said yes, He'd have been in violation of the Stolen Valor Act. A "no" would have exposed him as just another military service avoiding sissy, content with allowing the female half of the population defend the Constitution for him, while he stays state-side, in his jammies, playing with his "gun". A true jody redleg.

He ran away like little lord fauntleroy, and will again today.

I'm with Dio and Arvadonian on this one, I definately see your point. And you're right.. But taunting assholes is too much fun to turn down.

      Dio,

I think the shiny new site is attracting a lot more visitors.  All of the Neanderthals have crawled back out–Tadpole, Gopher, Nocklehead, the lot.  So I think the poll may just be inaccurate, not fatally flawed.  Wish Parsing would come back and take the top slot in the open thread again.

This is sort of like a FPE election, so the new accounts should have been locked.

I'm not sure where it is, but I have a pistol of some kind that belonged to my grandfather, which he carried when he was a trucker in the 40s/50s. I looked it over when my mom gave it to me and felt rather concerned about whether it was even safe to fire. I was thinking about mounting it with a picture of my Grandpa in his old truck, but never got around to it.

When my older boys were still at home, one of them had a .22 rifle. We all went out to shoot at a target range a few times. It was okay, but not an addictive level of fun. IMHO.

Well, Pols, now we know just what you think of us: "A simple enough question for our readers". Frankly I agree. The simpler the better. laugh

  8. Diogenesdemar says:

My current inventory:  2 shotguns, 3 rifles, 4 handguns

  9. DavidThi808DavidThi808 says:

I've never owned a gun but I used to own 3 semi-automatic paintball guns. I used to play every weekend. I gave them to one of my daughter's boyfriends about 10 years ago after I stopped playing.
