Incumbent Arvada City Council Member Rachel Zenzinger announced this week that the deadline has passed for an opponent to file to run against her in District 1. From an Aug. 27th press release, which essentially serves as a victory speech:
Rachel Zenzinger, Mayor Pro Tem of the City of Arvada, offered the following statement on the status of the upcoming Arvada City Council Election:
“We learned last night that I am the only candidate for election to the Arvada City Council in the race within District 1. I am pleased to know that I will have another four years in that position, to attend to long-term projects and, I hope, to conclude them successfully. Some of those projects include issues of transportation infrastructure, economic development within the city, and opportunities to improve Arvada residents’ quality of life.
“I especially appreciate the dozens of volunteers, campaign committee members and other supporters who made a strong statement about the importance of getting me re-elected. I am honored to know that I will have the opportunity to continue serving those people, the residents of District 1, and all the people of Arvada.”
