As we face purposely defaulting on our debt, I think this is a better quote for today:
Dana Bash announces a deal has been made. Boehner will supposedly call for a vote on the senate plan fairly soon… Pubs get nothing but a kick down the road and income verification…
You're correct and as U.S. Senator Saxby Chambliss (R-Georgia) said on NPR this morning, income verfication was already in the Affordable Healthcare Act, the Senate bill just tightens it up.
The Republicans get nothing. They have wasted our time, damaged the economy and now want to blame everyone else for their irresponsible positions except themselves. The Republican Party needs to go the way of the Whig Party. We need a new political party to counterbalance the other party. The Republican Party is dysfunctional and has explicitly established its inability to govern.
It may take a while, but the gop will begin to move back from the edge of the abys they are currently considering jumping into. I really want the sane conservatives back.
Republicans, stand up – polls be damned!

"Republicans should refuse to raise the white flag and insist on an honorable avenue of retreat.
And if Harry Reid’s Senate demands the GOP end the sequester on federal spending, or be blamed for a debt default, the party should, Samson-like, bring down the roof of the temple on everybody’s head."
Senate deal reached – to be announced at 3pm Eastern today.
Keep sequestration cuts in place, have the battles all over again next Jan, Feb, and March. Oh joy. But probably the best we can hope for right now.
New hunting grounds for the DSCC:
The Senate deal passed the House 285-144, with 87 Yeas from the (R) side and 198 Yeas from the (D) side. From Colorado, DeGette (D), Polis (D), Tipton (R), Gardner (R), Coffman (R), and Perlmutter (D) voted yes.
Lamborn (R) was the sole Colorado no vote.

Thanks Ross.
You're welcome, but the Guvs tied me on the update and they win the front page contest
Passed in the House 285-144.
Representative Pelosi guarranteed 197 votes, got more, (B)oehner earned a capital first letter in his last name by breaking the hastert rule and doing his job. He even voted for it. Between 85-90 redlegs voted for thier country.
Now, 7Feb14 we have this to deal with again. Senator Sanders and Rep. Grayson were livid that the White House didn't hold out for the 1 year minimum on the Debt Ceiling, but my sense is that Dan Pfeifer and the staff believed it might be a bridge too far.
Rocco — my understanding is that if the deal was longer than Jan 15, it would have locked in the next round of sequester cuts to the tune of around $30billion, if I recall correctly.
But, yes, we get to have another round of brinkmanship in just 3 months. We'll see if the GOP has learned anything. They will be craftier for sure, but hopefully chastened. The Tea Party is unlikely to have any influence next time.
Ted Cruz is singing soprano from now on.
It would be better for the country if the deadlines were pushed way out. But it's better for the Democratic Party that we're going to repeat this every 3 months.
I happened to surf across Hannity and stopped for awhile.
He is furious and shrieking his outrage…what fun to watch.
The new message is….you're gonna regret this, liberals, just you wait..
As MADCO would say, bwahahahahahaha!!!
Copy on that Duke.
I saw it too. That bunch is only fun to watch when they lose, but then it's really fun.
