It really seems to chap Council's collective hide that they can't ban it all together, so they do what they can.

  1. I'm down with no marijuana smoking in public places. Like cigarette smoking, it can cause allergic reactions, coughing, and for those as sensitive to it as I am, a contact high.  Not smoking on one's front porch is just being considerate, I think.

I don't particularly like the smell of marijuana, and I really don't like being in a confined space with people reeking of weed smoke. Trying to teach students who smoke is pretty challenging, too. They're very sweet, and think that they're brilliant, but can't focus for spit.

However, I thinki  that this ordinance would be a bear to enforce, and our police certainly have better things to do.

So this is one I'd leave up to the social contract – be considerate of one's neighbors – rather than getting into the "weeds" of enforcement.
