Marco Rubio Loves Him Some Cory Gardner

Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL).
Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL).

As noted by CNN via FOX 31:

Florida Sen. Marco Rubio, a likely contender for the 2016 presidential nomination, is urging his supporters to contribute to Gardner’s bid to unseat Sen. Mark Udall.

“Cory has been a leading conservative advocate for limited government and lower taxes in Colorado and is the kind of person we need in the United States Senate,” Rubio says in the message sent to his Reclaim America PAC email list.

A predictable endorsement from Sen. Marco Rubio of Florida, who has spent the last couple of years living down gaffes like his once frequently-told fictional story about his parents' fleeing from Fidel Castro (truth: they left years before) in hope of running for President in 2016. But any follower of internet memes, including those who don't follow politics, will know Sen. Rubio best from the thousands of animated images that have been made from his famously awkward drink of water in the middle of the GOP official rebuttal to the 2013 State of the Union address.

To be honest, in that moment, we felt for the Rubio in that moment, as it wasn't the kind of stardom he's looking for. On the upside, since Rubio's name ID isn't what we'd call stellar in Colorado, Cory Gardner can put on his literature that he's been endorsed by "Cottonmouth Politician Guy"–because far more Coloradans know about Rubio's world-famous chug of water than know Marco Rubio.

  1. The only thing worse than an endorsement from lightweight Marcus O'Rubious would be one from Rick "Frothy Mixture" Santorum.

    Oh, wait…

    1. Rubio schumbio . . .

. . . Gardner's already been endorsed by "No Labels"!!!  (How's this endorsement supposed to add anything beyond that??!!??)
