  1. Politico has a great story up on the political minefield created by those who played politics with food security in the last Farm Bill authorization.  Although the Farm Bill has a long tradition as a grand alliance between those whose focus is feeding the poor and those who care about a strong safety net for commodity groups – the Koch-fueled caucus was hell-bent on ending that tradition.  Not missed by some of us (but  absent from this article) was the role Congressman Gardner played in the Kabuki theater surrounding the debacle.  While dining like a king in Ireland  – childhood poverty rates in his own district remained some o the highest in the entire state.

The chickens are coming home to roost.  There should be a political price for a principled position that snatches food from a child's hands while simultaneously giving your 1%-ers just what they demand.

Farm bill foes find trouble of their own

    1. Yes, Piss Ant. Please tell us why they are giving cover to this guy by their willingness to associate with and even support him instead of denouncing this unforgivable hurtful insult to all the grieving families of Sandy Hook and demanding a retraction. On second thought. Just stay the hell away.

This is something that should appear in ads too. Supporting ones, not "I approved this message" ones. Nice grainy ones with sinister music featuring Gardner smiling with this horrible person and detailing the insane remarks the guy who Gardner stands by continues to defend concerning how the deaths of all those innocent children at Sandy Hook are unproven and possibly a hoax.

Not the kind of cruel crazy that goes over well in Colorado. Gardner should also be asked what he thinks of that theory and a person who gives it an iota of credibility by reporters and by the Denver Post Editorial Board when it's time for the paper to make their recommendations.

  2. Up next on the Discovery Channel, Alaska All-Star Wrestling . . .

"started when Track Palin, Mrs. Palin’s son, confronted a former boyfriend of his sister Willow and a fight broke out. Before long Mrs. Palin’s husband, Todd, who also races snowmobiles and was also celebrating a birthday (his 50th), was said to have gotten involved in the fighting.
Later, according to witnesses, Bristol Palin, one of Mrs. Palin’s daughters, threw several punches at the owner of the house where the party was being held.
The result was a brawl said to involve about 20 people. In the end, the Palin family was ordered by the homeowner to leave, witnesses said.
Witnesses said the Palin family members climbed back into their stretch Hummer limousine. Before they left, however, Mrs. Palin unleashed several rounds of profanity and Track Palin made a vulgar gesture toward the crowd, according to one participant at the party who declined to be identified out of fear of reprisals. (One participant, Eric Thompson, an employee of the firm whose office manager hosted the party, said he was fired after speaking to ABC News.)
The Palin family was not available for comment. But Mrs. Palin, in a Facebook post on Sunday, said that she had been traveling “yesterday” — the day the party was held — so she wanted to post a birthday greeting to her husband one day late. Mrs. Palin made no mention of the party.
“It was a really nice, mellow party,” Mr. Thompson said in an interview on Thursday night. “Then it turned into ‘The Jerry Springer Show."
