  1. Pressure is on right wing trolls like AC :

    Eric Boehlert ‏@EricBoehlert

let's face it, if GOP *doesn't* take the senate it'll go down as one of the great political chokes of all time. #nopressure

    1. Perhaps it's a reminder that Riot Fest is this weekend at Mile High in Denver. Public Enemy performing "911 Is A Joke" at last year's Riot Fest in Byers, Colorado:

Now I dialed 911 a long time ago
Don't you see how late they're reactin'
They only come and they come when they wanna
So get the morgue embalm the goner

  2. McCranky on early morning radio show 'guaranteeing' the reporter that he could go on to the battlefield in Syria and pick out 'who is the good guy' and 'who is the bad guy'.  Someone please send this guy back home while he has a shred of dignity left.

Sadly, the crank has spark in his eye when he talks about war.  What old coot needs Viagara when he can dream dreams about blowin' things up and stuff…

      1. McCain is too much of an arrogant jerk to be pitiful though, with his serial cluelessness, he passed pathetic on his way to pathological way back in 2008. Remember when he rushed to DC to save the economy, then contributed not one single suggestion? And who can forget his choice of Sarah Palin to be a heartbeat away from the presidency?  And all those groups he's vouched for that have turned out to be the worst bad actors? So on what is the expertise CNN claims he has based? Feeding good sound bite to the ravenous 24/7 hour cable and radio news monster. Period.

        1. I couldn't agree more, BC.  I'm certainly a fan of, and honor any veteran who has served our country.  My dad is a vet, and I give a substantial amount of my DC time to a non-profit vet org that focuses on clean energy and this country's most powerful asset, our 'soft power'.

The fact that McCranky is the face of our latest sabre rattling is troubling; the Senator has been nothing short of wreckless his entire adult life.  How he made the list to get in to naval air training is a story in itself, but did you know the largest loss of life on a US carrier (134 men) was becasue he failed to secure the rocket trigger on his aircraft? History has done a good job scrubbing that little factoid.  His time as a prisoner was really unfortunate – but that's what one should expect from war.   And then there's the dumping of his then-wife.  He's become the elephant in the room.  I wish he'd just quietly board his wife's personal jet and go back to Arizona and fade away.

One of the few sane voices on this issue contines to be Bernie Sanders.  He's nailing it (as is Rand Paul):  why are we spending our treasures to what amounts to the protection of the wealthiest family in the world?  While American taxpayers watch our bridges crumble, our middle class disappear and college educations becoming out of the grasp of ordinarly Americans – we're protecting the very people who fund this worldwide network of extremists.

We've learned nothing over the past decade.

          1. Michael,

Hadn't heard any of this story before.  Totally unfamiliar with it, and having served on an aircraft carrier myself, I thought I had a pretty good knowledge of the history of most of these as well as Vietnam incidents . . .

. . . but that article says McCain was in the pre-flight Skyhawk on deck, not the Phantom that launched the rocket.  More to this story????

          2. Actually I did know about that and several other incidents. He was apparently a sloppy, careless cocky young pilot who had a tendency to lose expensive planes in training, not a very responsible or well thought of officer and his not getting into a lot more serious trouble than he did was due to his high ranking father. So I really don't know why he should be considered an expert on anything military.

He deserves all kinds of credit, honor and respect for what he endured and survived during his many years as a POW.  He also helped others get through it. That doesn't make him an expert on military matters or on the war from which he was isolated in a POW camp. But it makes him a hero, and America doesn't take kindly to anyone dissing heroes, even those who only played heroes in the movies like lionized movie star John Wayne (for reasons having nothing to do with real life considered a Great American Hero), so his opponents, wisely, don't go there.

And they don't have to anyway as he's been making a complete ass of himself for over a decade now, the political stuff is fair game and younger Americans don't know or care much about  the Vietnam era. To them, he's just an old curmudgeon who keeps popping up as the go to cable TV warmonger in connection with every possible conflict.

    1. Um, no, asshole.

Daily Kos Elections Morning Digest: Why you shouldn't freak out about Quinnipiac's new polls

But we LOVE how easily fooled you and your ilk are. Try looking up the word, "outlier." Then take a stroll around the net outside of your brain-dead, right-wing closed information feedback loop, and see what the experts have to say about Q's two bullshit outlier polls in CO, yesterday and today. You won't like it. Not one bit.

So cling while you can, loser, It will be very short-lived.

      1. I say let the RW folks who disdain the Reality-Based Community persist in thinking that they're going to oust Hick and Udall–if it increases their complacency, that helps the Dems.  I'd love to see the RW put it on cruise control for the next 5 weeks!

      1. psst. jackass – same thing happened in 2012 – remember the romney landslide? That sound you hear are right wing turds both ways bob and con man cory going down the toilet. What will you do in November when they lose?

  3. Kansas has become a wet dream come true for David and Charles Koch:

After his election, Brownback, who was a U.S. senator for 14 years and a 2008 presidential candidate, quickly moved to consolidate conservative power in the state by successfully challenging more moderate Republicans. Advised by Arthur Laffer, the father of supply-side economics, and supported by special interest groups backed by conservative billionaire brothers Charles and David Koch, he pushed through legislation that cut taxes and spending, eliminated state jobs and denied far more applications for welfare assistance — not to mention that he tightened abortion regulations and loosened gun rules.

    The results?

Brownback promised that the efforts would drive economic growth, create jobs and stabilize the Kansas budget. But the state is now reporting a more than $300 million revenue shortfall. The poverty rate increased. The state’s economy expanded a total of 2.3 percent in inflation-adjusted terms over the past two years, half the rate of its four neighbors. And Kansas’s credit rating has been downgraded.

This would just be a preview of a Beauprez administration.

As one disillusioned GOP official put it:

“This effort to starve state government is now pressuring school governments and the social service agencies are having a much tougher time,” said Dillon, a Reno County commissioner who backed Brownback in 2010. “It just seems that he has this objective without understanding the consequences or caring about the consequences.”

That, in a nutshell, describes Crazy Uncle Bob Beauprez too.

    1. I've tried to visualize a BWB administration.  Chief of military staff (for the upcomign civil war):  Tom Tancredo.  Minister of Truth:  Tom Ready.  Director of Agriculture and Commissioner of Sex Education (posts will be combined):  Janet Rowland.  Director of immgration and border controls:  Pete Boyles.

I just hope he can find posts for former Reps Gardner and Coffman.

    2. Hot off the presses, Davie, as of 5:45 PM MST, from WaPo's Greg Sargent:

"A Kansas court just ruled that the Dem’s name will be taken off the ballot in the Senate race, perhaps giving independent Greg Orman a better shot at ousting GOP Senator Pat Roberts and boosting Dem hopes of holding the Senate."

      Woo-hoo!

      1. Sec of State Kobitch is going to try to require the Dems to name a replacement candidate.  I wonder how that will work if they refuse.  Will he open the phone book, and put the first name which turns out to be a registered Dem onto the ballot?

      1. Well, AC, that convinces me. No need to believe the rocket scientists at NASA and NOAA and ESA. Nope, you've accomplished your goal. I don't requrie any more persuasion. Now you can go back to sucking Koch and paying big money to Osama for his nozzle.
