  1. Yesterday I attended the memorial service for our good friend and long time Polster, Ralphie. Friday Jams Fest will never be quite the same without him.

In typical Ralphie style, the many attendees were treated to music Ralphie had picked out himself, years ago. Between stories of Ralphs' kindness and extraordinary intellect, we enjoyed his favorites…"Foxy Lady" by the Jimi Hendrix Experience…a truly memorable performance of "Hey Bartender" by Ralphs' old band, the Tones (with Ralphie on guitar) …finishing up with "Honky Tonk Women", by the Rolling Stones.

We love you, Ralphie… Rest in Peace…if there is a rock and roll heaven…Ralphie is tuning his guitar about now….miss you always, buddy…sad

    1. Thanks for sharing that, and for providing me the lead to find this amusing band notice:

History:       Ralph was a retired rock'n roller making damned good money as a geologist with a government contractor.  His wife grew tired of hearing
him say, "I used to be better than that guy" so she decided to make him shit or get off the pot.  On the night of his 35th birthday, she hired a hall and called every musician or ex-musician either of them knew for a mammoth jam
session.  The rest is history.  The band was originally founded under the name "The Simpletones" because nobody knew more than 3 chords.  However, the expense of putting such a long name on business cards became prohibitive
and the name was soon shortened.  The group quickly became the darlings of the over 40 set in this small western Colorado town, particularly after its memorable version of "Shout" caused the Grand Junction Lion's Club to
dance on the tables one night at the local Holiday Inn.
