    1. Chris Cilliza at WAPO said Giuliani has marginalized himself w/ this. I disagree. He had to have some significance before he could become marginalized. I think the GOP primary voters marginalized him in ’08.

          1. I'm not all that surprised.  Remember when it came out that the arch-segregationist, J. Strom Thurmond, had impregnated the African-American housekeeper when he was young and had a bi-racial daughter?  That doesn't keep people like Thurmond from spewing the garbage that comes out of their mouths.

Same thing with sexual orientation. God forbid they acknowledge that they're gay.  They're just wide-stance conservatives who like to toe tap in airport restrooms.

You are right about the self-loathing……….

    1. I can't stand the man and everytime I see him on TV trying to sell his security system, I tell my husband that I wouldn't buy anything from that creep for no amount of money or security.

    2. Guess Rudy's going for both roles in "Dumb and Dumber".  First he did Dumb. Now he's following up with Dumber:

Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani (R) defended his accusation that Obama doesn't love America by arguing that Obama's upbringing by a white mother and attendance of a white school made his statement not racist.

"Some people thought it was racist — I thought that was a joke, since he was brought up by a white mother, a white grandfather, went to white schools, and most of this he learned from white people," Giuliani said in an interview with The New York Times on Thursday.

During a fundraiser for Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker (R) in New York City on Wednesday, Giuliani said that he didn't think Obama loved the country because of the way he was raised.

        1. We all know that racists make an exception for any people of color who have white blood, right? I'm sure, back in the day, once you told the nice white man in Alabama that it was OK for you to be drinking from the whites only fountain because you were only partly black, everything proceeded smoothly from there and then the nice white man took you home to meet his sister. Ditto in the north as far as joining the country club.

  1. Leading Dem candidate for US Senate in Pa. has some problems.

HARRISBURG – The investigation into alleged leaks of confidential information by Pennsylvania Attorney General Kathleen Kane was conducted legally and should be allowed to proceed, the judge who oversaw the case argued in legal papers Wednesday.

"The truth is crying to be heard," Montgomery County Court Judge William R. Carpenter wrote of the case against Kane.

Carpenter's filing comes as Kane is asking the state Supreme Court to throw out criminal charges that a statewide grand jury recommended against her late last year. Kane is contending that Carpenter overstepped his authority last summer when he named a special prosecutor to investigate her office for the alleged leak.

The grand jury examined allegations that Kane had leaked secret grand jury information to the Philadelphia Daily News about a 2009 case that had been handled by one of her political foes.

Documents in the case unsealed last month show that the panel recommended that Kane, a Democrat, be charged with perjury, false swearing, obstruction, and official oppression.

    1. Given the current state of Pennsylvania politics – and the fact that Kane is the state's first Democratic AG, while both the judge and the special prosecutor are Republicans – I would hold off on judgement on this one and let the State Supreme Court decide on the legitimacy of the investigation. This could be a witch hunt as easily as it could be a legit investigation.

    1. I guess this must be addressed to the people who, instead of erroneously believing Obama was raised in Kenya to hate European ancestry whites (like his mom's entire side of the family), erroneously believe he was raised in some "ghetto" and away from his white mom and grandparents. They really don't need to try this hard. they already have the stupid vote completely sewn up.  Modster and AC already accurately represent the overwhelming majority of R voters.

    2. Never vote for a Republican.

      prespos

Republicans want to take a technologically and scientifically superior nation and turn it into a benighted Christian theocracy.

      1. There has always been a strong anti-science, anti-intellectual element here. I wonder how the hell WWII would have turned out if we hadn't imported all those fleeing European scientists. The ones who were the backbone of so much of our scientific, technological advancement for decades.

We must be the only country where intellectual mediocrity and science ignorance are pretty much requirements for pols wishing to appeal to a big chunk of voters. It's not as if Sarah Palin became that segment's darling despite being stupid and ignorant. Those were her biggest selling points, besides the naughty librarian (the glasses) appeal. Naughty librarian with a gun. Bet modster still has her poster over his basement bed.

        1. They would have labeled it a big government spending boondoggle.  Hell, they probably would have labeled the Manhattan Project as make work for physicists.  Find market-based solutions………..
