  1. Thom Hartmann: “The Republican coalition is made up of Rich People and Suckers. And the Republicans know they gotta keep the suckers coming. And every now and then, they toss something out for the suckers.”

AC and Mod: you might not believe this, but Thom is talking about you. Take a break from Rush and Levine and Laura for a week and come back a listen to this. You’ll be surprised and it might change your life.

List of Sucker Tricks executed by elected R’s: Benghazi, Abortion, Immigrants, Moar Warrrr, Terrism, ISIS, Loretta Lynch, Email-Gate, etc…

    1. AC and Mod, being suckers, will never know they’re suckers (kind of an important part of the definition) and just chalk any evidence up to lefties being mean.

    1. I want to see the unedited tape. I hope that if I’m ever ambush interviewed like that I’ll have the presence of mind to deadpan that Kim Jong Un and Obama watched Titanic and looked cute in bed together.

  2. Rose Mary Clinton

President Barack Obama definitely knew that Hillary Clinton was using a private email account as secretary of state — and he cautioned her not to, veteran political journalist Edward Klein told Newsmax TV.

“According to State Department, White House, and Clinton sources — three separate sources — the president of the United States was … aware she was using a private server, a private email,” Klein said Tuesday on “The Steve Malzberg Show.”

“And either he or his people told her and warned her not to.”

  3. Hands Up, My Ass

On Monday, Capehart announced his new piece on Twitter by saying it was, “The hardest piece I’ve ever had to write.” It amounts to a reversal of his previous stance and an admission that, under the circumstances, Wilson’s shooting of Brown was “justified.”

This month, the Justice Department released two must-read investigations connected to the killing of Brown that filled in blanks, corrected the record and brought sunlight to dark places by revealing ugly practices that institutionalized racism and hardship. They have also forced me to deal with two uncomfortable truths: Brown never surrendered with his hands up, and Wilson was justified in shooting Brown…

What DOJ found made me ill. Wilson knew about the theft of the cigarillos from the convenience store and had a description of the suspects. Brown fought with the officer and tried to take his gun. And the popular hands-up storyline, which isn’t corroborated by ballistic and DNA evidence and multiple witness statements, was perpetuated by Witness 101. In fact, just about everything said to the media by Witness 101, whom we all know as Dorian Johnson, the friend with Brown that day, was not supported by the evidence and other witness statements.

    http://www.breitbart.com/big-journalism/2015/03/16/wapos-jonathan-capehart-hands-up-dont-shoot-was-built-on-a-lie/

    1. It is indeed unfortunate that this particular incident turns out not to have been as it first was presented. That doesn’t change what the DOJ found about the department as a whole nor does it change the experience of innocent black men all over the country who do indeed get harassed and sometimes shot dead by law enforcement because of the color of their skin. This one instance doesn’t come close to proving what you think it proves.

    2. I always go to the original source. Shockingly, neither you nor the Breitbart site quotes Capehart’s conclusion, but I will:

Now that black lives matter to everyone, it is imperative that we continue marching for and giving voice to those killed in racially charged incidents at the hands of police and others. But we must never allow ourselves to march under the banner of a false narrative on behalf of someone who would otherwise offend our sense of right and wrong. And when we discover that we have, we must acknowledge it, admit our error and keep on marching. That’s what I’ve done here.

One of the classiest moments in journalism I’ve ever seen.

So, regarding Michael Brown: No one portrayed him as an angel, not his family, not his friends, not even most of his supporters. Most who saw the convenience store surveillance video saw a) that it was almost certainly Michael Brown, and b) that he stole cigarillos and bullied the store owner.

But in America, petty theft  and being a bullying jerk doesn’t get a death sentence. We don’t cut off the hands of thieves, nor the penises of rapists. So I still question Capehart’s conclusion that Wilson’s shooting of Brown was justified, particularly as the boy was definitely running away from the officer when he was shot seven times.

And the institutional racism of the Ferguson PD is also not in question, by Capeheart, by the DOJ, by anyone else.

Just idle speculation, AC…since Atty General Eric Holder’s DoJ investigation came out the way you wanted, does this mean that you will now back off on your antagonism to Holder, to the nomination of Loretta Lynch, to any other qualified person of color Obama nominates?

  4. In Case You Missed It: Republican Majorities have legislatively lorded over DC this entire year, and have yet to perform any meaningful act of governing. Beethoven knows they probably hate the Postal Service so much because they’d never be able to name a Post Office building with this current coalition of Sociopaths, Narcissists, Witch-burners, and Luddites passed off to their electoral base as Geniuses and Saviours.

      1. You do know that this win means Israel as a Jewish state can’t possibly survive. One state makes that impossible. At least nobody will be able to argue that Bibi really does support a two state solution and we can all stop negotiating. There’s no longer anything to negotiate. In the end, the Arab majority will still be there and the Jewish state will be swept away by demographics. A minority wielding all the power over a growing stateless majority isn’t going to fly  for very long and that’s what Bibi has promised. Glad you’re getting such a kick out of it. I  might outlive Israel and I’m sure my son will. Bibi is the best friend those who want to wipe Israel from the face of the earth ever had. He’s going to make it happen faster. Want to visit? Better go sooner rather than later.

        1. Can’t disagree with that, and wrote much the same a couple of weeks ago.

If Bibi is able to form a government of the right – even with the Zionist Union in unity – it will be a government with no friends at the peace table. It’s hard to ignore the blatant race-baiting and the outright statement that he doesn’t support a two-state solution.

From here, a Bibi led Israel means one of three possibilities: (a) apartheid for Palestinians, (b) a non-Jewish majority Israel, or (c) mass genocide to prevent (b) from happening. Bibi seems to be pretty clear he’s aiming for (a).

          1. C isn’t going to fly with the only ally Israel absolutely can’t do without. That would be us. Even though Israel wouldn’t last 15 minutes if the US ever decided to just say… screw you. We’re done. You’re on your own, Israel takes it for granted that the Jewish lobby here will always force our pols to put up with whatever they dish out. But there isn’t any unified American Jewish Lobby anymore. The positions taken by the next generation progressive J Street, as opposed to those taken by old guard Jewish lobbying groups, reflect the way the majority of American Jews now poll and that includes a majority recognizing that without a two state solution it’s pretty much game over. So if Bibi thinks he can count on American Jews to make sure the US goes along with whatever he wants no matter what, he may find, one fine day, that he’s mistaken.

I would fully support the US disengaging from negotiations between Israel and the Palestinians completely and right now because Bibi has just very clearly stated there is nothing to negotiate. So WTF is the point? We’ve been doing nothing but enabling his foot dragging while creating facts on the ground all these years, the purpose of which has always been to make a Palestinian state impossible and to humiliate any Palestinian leader who shows the world any degree of moderation to make sure to send Palestinians back into the arms of the hardest of the hard liners. That way he can always say it’s all their fault that we can’t have two states even though he’d oppose that no matter what. Fine.

That’s his policy and we don’t have to support it and shouldn’t support it. If the Israelis are stupid enough to keep electing him then there’s not much more we or anybody else can do for them. Nobody can stop them from signing their own death warrant if that’s what they’re determined to do. Apparently they are.

      2. And BTW,  don’t you find it pretty pathetic that inviting Bibi is all you can come up with? Not one thing that in any way benefits your own people in your own country? I feel really sorry for you righties having to keep up the IOKIYAR cheer leading with such an execrable bunch to defend.
