  1. It's after 9:00 AM and I'm not seeing a single new comment since yesterday. And only this Monday open thread for new content. Can that possibly be? Problem at my end or with site again?

      1. No Labor day is next Monday. It has to be in September. Though lots of people were treating this weekend like Labor Day weekend. I now have some new comments showing up, including yours.

    1. Although Clinton rejects the notion that you can make an eagle out of a pig, the Repubs since then have accomplished something quite extraordinary…

  2. Sweet Jesus … Cynthia Coffman is joining other AGs to fight Obama's Clean Power Plan, even though Colorado is the textbook example of how to achieve the necessary carbon reductions. I left the party for good reason six years ago, and they continue to affirm the wisdom of my choice daily.  #fossilonians

      1. But who is her client?  The Governor and CDPHE are in favor of the plan.  The CO AG only has limited jurisdiction.  The office represents state agencies except in criminal and consumer protection matters.  And will the JBC approve a special appropriation.

    1. I hear she scheduled a meeting with the EPA to confront it and ask it to resign.  Harvey, Mizel, and Tancredo are checking their schedules to make sure they can be there to back her up.  Also, I've heard rumors that the EPA is banging the Minerals Management Service on the sly.

    2. If any of you were fans of the HBO program Newsroom and have AmazonTV, it's well-worth the time to rewatch the series from the beginning – in particular S1:E3, but watching the opening scene in S1:E1 is never a waste of time.  They could be re-running the series starting today and it would reflect, to the tee, what is happening politically in the world today.
