Bob Martinez Leading Huckabee Charge

by: Colorado Pols

Thu Jan 17, 2008 at 09:57:45 AM MST

Former Republican Party Chair Bob Martinez is leading Republican Presidential candidate Mike Huckabee's efforts in Colorado. If he is half as successful with Huckabee as he was when he was leading the state GOP, Huckabee should have an excellent shot at fourth place.

Colorado Pols :: Bob Martinez Leading Huckabee Charge
Former State Republican Party Chairman Bob Martinez has taken on an effort to rally delagates in Colorado on behalf of Presidential Candidate Mike Huckabee.  Martinez has issued a call for those registered Republican's eligible to vote in the precinct caucuses on February 5th to support Governor Huckabee and run for delegate and support others who do.

Martinez's call tells prospective delegates to go to www.mikehuckabee.com, register to be a delegate or volunteer and contribute $25, $50, $100 or more then call their County Clerk and determine what precinct they are in, who their precinct committeepersons are and get a list of other Republicans in their precinct, call them and ask for their support.

Martinez said he was honored to be allowed to help lead the grassroot efforts of the Huckabee Campaign in Colorado.  Martinez and his wife met with Governor Huckabee when he visited Colorado Springs in the past year and felt an "immediate connection" with the Governor.

"I found him to be a warm, caring and intelligent human being.  I have since grown to admire his strong ability to communicate with the American people. His humble background, previous pastorial leadership and his strong executive experience as Governor of Arkansas is something that will attract people, "Martinez said.

"Most importantly is his vision for the country. He not only adheres to basic conservative principles of smaller government, low taxes and individual freedom and individual responsibility but he advocates a bold new economic program to move the country forward.  The new program calls for eliminating the IRS and implementing a new 'Fair Tax' which taxes consumption instead of production.  It will increase our capabilities to be more productive and competitive in the world economy," said Martinez.

Martinez said Governor Huckabee is a strong advocate for small business, entrepenuership, a strong military, family values, preservation of traditional marriage, right to life, gun rights, secure borders and improved educational opportunities.

"As Governor of Arkansas for ten years, he inherited a deficit of 250 million dollars and he left office with an 800 million dollar surplus. He cut taxes 94 times, improved the highway system, improved education, helped expand the economy and created jobs.  He was recognized as one of the nation's  best Governors," said Martinez.

Martinez who has served as a Republican precinct leader, District Captain, County Chairman, State Chairman and National Commiteeman, says that the upcoming Presidential election will be a "critical juncture in our nation's future" so everyone should play an active role in deciding our new leadership.

Latest Huck-ster news
Apparently Huckabee thinks homosexuality and beastiality are equivilent. details here.

Tom Tancredo Interview

Come on Dave
I know you're a smart guy.  Do you want Chuck Norris to come over there and karate chop you?

Is there another topic of discussion that we can bring up that is more relevant to the Presidential race?  Say, taxes, social security reform etc?

By the way, I just got an email from a group called "Horse lovers for Hillary", looks like the bestiality lobby is hitting back hard!!

[ Parent ]
May not be relevant...
to you Ben, but it is to my partner of 12 years and myself.

The man is scum.  Furthermore, it was talk like this from his runningmate that helped sink Bob Beauprez's gubernatoral campaign in 2006.  This demonstrates just how much of an extremist nut job Huckabee is.

"But when I see a 9-11 victim family on television, or whatever, I'm just like, 'Oh, shut up!' I'm so sick of them because they're always complaining."  Glenn Beck

[ Parent ]
it is VERY relevant
and Huckabee is right.

[ Parent ]
Please...
nominate this man.  He is probably the only republican that any of our candidates (including Kucinich and Gravel) could beat without breaking a sweat.

"But when I see a 9-11 victim family on television, or whatever, I'm just like, 'Oh, shut up!' I'm so sick of them because they're always complaining."  Glenn Beck

[ Parent ]
I will agree with you on that
Huckabee is not conservative enough to win.

[ Parent ]
Ha!
Line and laugh of the day! So instead of Huckabee, we're going to back Mittens who's a conservative-come-lately...

[ Parent ]
Thank you, thank you very much
It's not going to matter because our dream ticket is Clinton/Obama or Obama/Clinton.  Then no matter who the republican candidate is, they win in a walk because then the dems will see how totally out of touch with the nation they really are.

[ Parent ]
Coming from a person
who supports Doug Bruce kicking people for doing their job. Perhaps you're out of touch with reality. Have you seen any of the elections lately? Dems are pulling 2x as many voters (majority of Independents and R's are crossing over) to run away as fast as they can from the R's.

"Suddenly, it may be cool to be American again" - William J. Kole

[ Parent ]
I will make you a deal
if there is a Clinton/Obama or Obama/Clinton ticket and they win in the general, I promise that I will never post a comment on this site again.

[ Parent ]
No thanks
I'd rather have the spectrum of opinions regardless of who's in office.

And there will not be an Obama/Clinton (or vice-versa) ticket. It won't happen. One will choice a running mate who's been sitting on the sidelines and not in the media spot light.

"Suddenly, it may be cool to be American again" - William J. Kole

[ Parent ]
you are right
but it sure would be fun if it happened.

[ Parent ]
I think it's very likely
They want to win more than they're pissed at the other - so they'll take the other for the strongest ticket.

The Republicans will nominate 2 white guys and they will look so last century standing next to the two of them that we will win in a walk.

Tom Tancredo Interview

[ Parent ]
Not good enough.
You also have to promise to not kick people when they are down in the manner of your hero, Jackboot Doug.

[ Parent ]
I don't kick people when they are down
but it sure is fun playing Devils Advocate and getting you all riled up.

[ Parent ]
We agree!
That's our dream ticket too. And a sure win with 60% of the voters. Your 40% can sit around wondering why we didn't see your clear choice...

Tom Tancredo Interview

[ Parent ]
I would like to see if your theory holds up
I think it is apparent that we don't have a clear choice and might not have one until the convention in September.  I hate to say that we are running pretty low on talent this time around.

On your side you have a very respectful candidate in Hillary, I don't like her but I respect her. And then there is Obama, nobody can quite figure out where he has come from and why he is so popular but you can't deny that something is going on there.

We have never elected a female or black to the highest or even the second highest position before and I wonder if the country is prepared to do so in one quick swoop.  I think either one has a much better chance by themselves.  I think that if they were to be on the ticket together that we would see a tremendous turnout of voters that we normally don't see go against them.

I am sorry to say that there are a lot of people who still believe that a women's place is at home taking care of the family and I believe just about everyone would agree that this country still has major race issues.  You know, I almost wish they would get elected as a team just to prove my theory wrong but as a republican it would tough to swallow.

[ Parent ]
Outside of the Republican party
I think the country has moved past race and gender in this race. They're issues, but not in terms of electability but more toward who is going to get the black and female vote.

In other words, in our primary it's an advantage if anything.

Tom Tancredo Interview

[ Parent ]
I think you are right in parts of the country, but not all
I am at my house in Texas this week and I just had a conversation with a gentleman who was the democratic county chairman for his county.  We just had this same conversation and he felt that at this point that Obama was not electable because of his race.  He personally supported Edwards but thought Hillary would get the nod and it would be a toss up if McCain won the nomination.  He thought McCain would pull more independents because Hillary was a woman.

[ Parent ]
Dang
Gomer Huck should have gotten Janet "Bestiality" Rowland to be his cheerleader instead of Martinez.  Of course, both do know how to sabotage a campaign.

[ Parent ]
Is that you Holzman?
How's the weather in Switzerland?  When are you coming back down from the Mountains to run for State Chairman??

[ Parent ]
No
he's too busy photoshopping photos from his old scrapbooks for his Reagan shrine and making sure the wires from Seymour are coming in like they are supposed to.

" And there are no Christian terrorists."

The Beej, circa 8/26/2010

[ Parent ]
Dang!
That was going to be my line "We know who Janet Rowland is supporting!" Perhaps the conneciton isn't Rowland, but former GOP Chair Martinez?

Here's the except:

QUESTIONER: Is it your goal to bring the Constitution into strict conformity with the Bible? Some people would consider that a kind of dangerous undertaking, particularly given the variety of biblical interpretations.

HUCKABEE: Well, I don't think that's a radical view to say we're going to affirm marriage. I think the radical view is to say that we're going to change the definition of marriage so that it can mean two men, two women, a man and three women, a man and a child, a man and animal. Again, once we change the definition, the door is open to change it again. I think the radical position is to make a change in what's been historic.

Is anyone else sick of the "historic" argument these radicals employ, since they revise history to their narrow political/religious view?

"Suddenly, it may be cool to be American again" - William J. Kole

[ Parent ]
Correction: Huckabee doesn't oppose bestiality
He doesn't care if people screw horses; he just doesn't want anyone to be MARRIED to one.

Defend the 1st, 10th, 14th and 17th Amendments - and Social Security! Vote Democratic!

Didn't want to loose the wyoming vote by opposing SEX with animals.
also doesn't oppose marrying your cousin, could hurt him all over the south.

[ Parent ]
Hmmm...Is the plagiarist Janet Rowland
being plagiarized here?  Will have to compare Huck's words with her's.

[ Parent ]
How bout that Flat Tax everyone??
Come back people....back to the real world....

No worse than Ron Paul's economics
[ Parent ]
Saying its no worse
than Ron Paul is not saying much.  Paul is a total lunatic gold bug.  Flat-earthers, err, flat-taxeers aren't much better.

[ Parent ]
Right
either one would be a devastate the economy move.

Tom Tancredo Interview

[ Parent ]
That must be why Ron Paul keeps being appointed to the House Financial Services Committee...
and is the Ranking Member of the Subcommittee on Domestic and International Monetary Policy, Trade, and Technology.

Compared with the folks here on Colorado Pols, Paul obviously knows nothing about the economy.

[ Parent ]
Gomer economics
Steve Forbes, sitting around the breakfast, table must have had the idea of feeding his huge sales tax increase to Mikey.   Most Republicans were saying "I'm not going to try it...you try it,"  "Hey, let's get Mikey to try it...he hates everything."  Whoa..."he likes it...hey, Mikey!"

[ Parent ]
Not implying that Forbes supports the sales tax increase
just that he likes other Republicans to do the dirty work.

[ Parent ]
Does Bob Martinez believe in evolution?
I can't wait to see that plank of the Huckster's platform debated in Minneapolis...

Evolution of the mind....man
Groovy.....

[ Parent ]
De-evolution for the Jocko Homo crowd

You should be banned from this site for 2 reasons:
1.  For plugging the WORST music video since the "Time Warp" from Rocky Horror Picture Show.
2.  For playing Devo....yup, that's says it all.

[ Parent ]
I'm not entirely sure I disagree with you.
