DENVER — The Aurora man under FBI investigation for alleged ties to a New York bomb plot has admitted he has ties to al-Qaida and is in negotiations to plead guilty to a terror charge, a senior law enforcement official told ABC News.
The official said Zazi had received explosives training and his possible guilty plea would be part of a deal to cooperate with the government.
Hmmmm.
The CIA reportedly first learned of his al-Qaida ties when Zazi visited Pakistan and officials said they later learned of “deeply troubling” conversations that were picked up on government intercepts.
Wiretaps? What?!?!?!

it is warrant less wiretaps.
The refusal to allow the judicial branch to oversee the executive branch.
This is why the FISA court was created.
Overseas, the NSA has long carried out “wiretaps” (not actually “wiretaps,” but I will concede the point) which does not violate the law before or after the Patriot act.
The question is did the government follow the law, I believe they did.
I am interested to know if they waterboarded him to get his confession?
If this was a wiretap that was in compliance with FISA, I don’t see a problem here. I just see a system that worked.
Steven Emerson’s IPT.org has Denver as an Al Queda listed city in his book.
His database files are superior for tracking terror financing too.
than to jump to conclusions. Other sources say this is not necessarily so. As a few GOp folks pointed out on the (Gale is not Jane) Norton thread…an investigation does not prove guilt.
.
why the guy goes home every evening after his interrogations with the FBI.

that this was an excellent, excellent job by the CIA, FBI and local law enforcement. We should all be thankful for their work (no snark). I know there is a lot that remains to be done with Zazi and his ilk but I sure as hell appreciate what was done to nab him before he did anything horrific.
If I were Dick Cheney I’d order the CIA to repeatedly shock his testicles, but I’m not Dick Cheney…
