I would have no resistance to meaningful tort reform – but it doesn’t significantly lower health insurance premiums. At least it hasn’t in the states that have done what the national R’s claim they want.
Likewise, I have no real resistance to more open competition, i.e., allowing health insurance to be sold across state lines. Of course, that should come with either the removal of the anti-trust exemption the industry currently enjoys and caution to not unduly step on state regulators.
Is not health care reform.
the instructor asked us “if you could wave a magic wand and get Congress to pass anything, what would it be?” and some douche said “tort reform” and the dumb side of class grunted “ooh that’s a good one”.
What the hell? Tort reform? YEAH! If I could pass anything, it would be TORT REFORM cos I’m a Christian and I think Jesus would pay out $600,000 in damages for 50 people injured in a bus accident. TOTALLY.
It’s needed to lower premiums for medical malpractice. It a piece of health Care reform, and everyone agreed.
..when Coffman spoke, it was like all the oxygen left the room? Udall, Bennet, Perlmutter and Polis’s energy built on one another and they seemed enthusiastic about the public option. All Coffman could do was be the “doom and gloom” in the room to make them shine.
I almost lost it when he said the government never does anything right. Yikes. Wait a minute — wasn’t he a Lt. Col. in the military? Is he saying as an employee of the government, he never did anything right? Wow.
We must get Coffman out of office before he hurts himself thinking too hard about how CD6 used to be a safe seat. After all, Arapahoe County did go blue, and Douglas County does attract a lot of people from both coasts, and the progressives did get 800 or so people out to his town hall in Highlands Ranch, and his latest opponent, John Flerlage does have military credentials at least as good as his. Now Coffman actually has to go to pesky events like health care town halls to make his constituents think he knows how to read.
And don’t even get me started about his whine that the Democrats don’t believe in transparency! Where was the cry for transparency when he was throwing out thousands of our voter registrations last year?
is when you see electeds saying “government is inefficient” or candidates running on “we need smaller government”. Credulous cretins vote, to say the least
