That one had to sting for Nutter. Bigly. He’s barely over the Reyher debacle and now this.
Not to mention George Brauchler losing.
Mike Coffman is many levels above the idiot in the White House. I am celebrating that Mike is out, this is something I have been working for many years. Mike, as all other veterans, offered his life for the U.S. The low intelligence racist homophobe pervert in the WH did not. I am happy that he is leaving and a great Dem is taking the seat.

Since redistricting 2012 Coffman had yet to face a tough opponent. In a moderate distrrict, he faced three hard left candidates. Joe Miklosi, Andrew Romanoff, and Morgan Caroll. Jason Crow was not liberal and unlike Coffman a decorated military officer. Coffman didn't know how to run against the middle when he got tied to Trump
Morgan Carroll tried to tie Coffman to Trump, and he weaseled our by saying he would “stand up to Trump”. Jason Crow was able to hammer Coffman on his 96% support for Trump.
Timing is everything in politics…
Morgan Carroll also had a legislative record to fuel contrast ads. Romanoff had a legislative record. Joe Miklosi had a legislative record.
Jason Crow? He had service on a volunteer committee arguing in favor of a VA hospital. Legal cases — but none that appear to be especially "red meat" criminal cases. Slim pickings for the oppo-researchers and advertising gurus.

I would NEVER refer to Andrew Romanoff as hard left. Nor Joe Miklosi or Morgan Carroll. I'd call them all slightly left of center, but no where near the far left. In fact, as much as I supported Romanoff, he wasn't as progressive as I would have liked to have seen (but more progressive than Michael Bennet was at the time…who seemed afraid of his shadow in his first years at the senate).

JohnDenver is correct about Jason not having a voting record. But, Jason does have progressive views, e.g., he believes the military budget should be cut. Coffman could have attacked Crow just on his positions taken on his website. Instead, he said Crow took a different route than Coffman who joined the military. Say what? Jason has political timing and a weirdly incompetent Coffman campaign to thank. Now he needs to develop a “working hard for his constituents” reputation, like Perlmutter, to win re-election.
Some would say Bennet is still afraid of his own shadow. Cue to Zappy….
You are absolutely right about Andrew. His opening ad was about the need for a balanced budget amendment. Not very left.
When Andrew ran against Thurston in 2010, Andrew did seem like the more progressive. But in hindsight, it was more like a DLC primary.
