Business groups use ads, poll results to push Markey on health care vote

This is a story that’s been unfolding most of the morning. First, a coalition of business groups released poll results showing that 58 percent of likely voters in Colorado’s 4th Congressional District oppose the Democratic health care reform plan.

Then I found that Rep. Betsy Markey is one of the targets in the U.S. Chamber’s $4 million to $10 million ad campaign against the Democratic reform bill.

None of this is surprising given the critical position Markey now occupies in the political universe.

Here’s the latest version of my story, which may get updated one or two more times today:

Here are the poll results released by Employers for a Healthy Economy:

  1. That would win her the affection and adoration of the progressives and re-motivate her progressive supporters and the otherwise demoralized D base she’s goin gto need in the general.

Then, after she wins, she can back off and support more practical and incremental reform.
