Recall Polis Campaign Goes Psycho Over Sol Pais

  • by: Colorado Pols

UPDATE: Moderator of the Recall Polis Facebook group sounds the all clear:

It would appear that the faithful remain unconvinced.

—–

The news is breaking from multiple local outlets that an 18-year-old woman from Florida who was allegedly “obsessed” with the 1999 mass shooting at Columbine High School in Littleton and made credible threats of violence against area schools is dead, having been found at Echo Lake near Mt. Evans this morning:

The FBI Denver office confirmed the agency had responded to the base of Mt. Evans Wednesday morning and, in a tweet just before 11 a.m., said there was no longer a threat to the community.

According to Clear Creek County Sheriff Rick Albers, Pais’s body was found at 10:50 a.m. about a half-mile from Echo Lake Park, located near the Mount Evans Scenic Byway about 45 miles west of Denver.

The drama over threats made by Sol Pais and the resulting lock-out of hundreds of area public schools yesterday and again today has riveted media and dominated local social media discussion for the last 24 hours. And over at the closed Facebook group page for the conspiracy theory-positive Recall Polis campaign, there’s a clear consensus emerging that this is what’s known among the InfoWars crowd as a “false flag” operation:

Now, Jennifer McCreary may think she’s a “crazy woman” to think this could have been a trick to distract the voters of Colorado from the Polis recall campaign–and to be brutally honest, lots of our readers will agree. But you know who doesn’t think this is “crazy?”

Pastor Steven Grant and hundreds of fellow Recall Polis members, that’s who!

We don’t have room in this space to reprint the literally hundreds of comments to this post, almost all of them heartily agreeing that the lock-out of schools and manhunt for Pais was a “diversion” meant to soften opposition to recalling Gov. Polis over the signing of the extreme risk protection order bill–a bill that would not have applied in this case since Pais was not a Colorado resident. It’s worth noting, however, that Pais’ home state of Florida also has ERPO on the books, and it’s possible something might have been done to prevent her death and threats to Colorado schools.

Either way, the suggestion that Pais’ actions were in any way planned by anyone even remotely connected to Colorado politics, for the purpose of increasing support for “red flag” or any other purpose is ludicrous to an extreme that should oblige polite society to never pay a moment’s attention to the deranged people voicing it ever again.

Unfortunately, as of now we don’t have that option.

These are the people trying to recall the governor.

  1. I would imagine they are a bit miffed.  An individual who was apparently quite disturbed hopped a commercial flight to Denver, was able to acquire a gun and then, literally, closed schools in the metro area.

If I were attempting to recall an elected official precisely because he signed a bill that will make it easier to remove guns from disturbed individuals—like the one that just hopped a plane to Denver and acquired a gun and closed schools., I'd be a bit miffed too.

This whole event just served to highlight how easily a disturbed individual can get a gun…

  2. Easter weekend on the eastern plains is going to be a doozy this year. Will there even be any time to pray with the time it's going to take to explore every whackadoodle conspiracy theory?  #WWRJD?

      1. It draws nearly as many good folk as Easter Sunrise Service and this year they'll get a two-fer: petition gatherers for the recall will be at the gates of both events. We don't want to miss a single soul who wants to register their dismay with the libtards grown-ups running government.

Republican, #WhiteWashed Jesus is very, very pleased.

  3. Does anyone really think there’s a possibility that Recall Polis wasn’t already psycho before this??? . . .

(. . . I mean, except for you psychos, of course.)

  4. A minor clarification for Pols…… Echo Lake is not at the foot of Mt. Evans. You may be thinking of Summit Lake, which is 2,800' higher than Echo and actually is on the north side of Mt. Evans. There are some other peaks and several miles between Echo Lake and Evans.

According to 9News dot com, she apparently committed suicide. We'll probably never know why she had to come to Colorado to do that. Reminds me of the guy who climbed most of the way up Longs Peak some years ago so he could commit suicide by jumping off The Narrows.

    1. We did mean Echo Lake, but you're right that Summit Lake is closer to the peak so we edited slightly to clarify. As for the woman's motivations in coming to Colorado, as sorry as we are that she could not get help in time, it seems the original plan was much worse than her own death by suicide.

    2. CHB, It reminds me of the military pilot (forget which branch) who peeled off a formation and crashed his plane into Gold Dust Peak a few years ago. Wasn't that on April 19th or 20th?

          1. That was it, Davie. He was still missing on the 19th-20th of April that year. I suppose others have noticed the same thing, but it's always the odd-numbered years when this disturbing stuff happens in April.

        1. The closest town to that crash is the little town of Fulford. He was armed, and I don't think they ever found out what happened to his ordinance.

              1. Of course, V. that is correct.

I spent a long day installing baseboard on a concrete floor for a friend. Boy, was I pooped last night..

                Thanks for the correction.

          1. There were people living along Government Mesa Road southwest of Montrose who reported hearing loud whomps approximately the same time as the guy's jet was passing through the area. The reports were enough for the military to dispatch searchers, who reported to the sheriff that nothing was found.

It should be noted the area has long been populated by conspiracy freaks.

    1. Shhhhh.  They have half my town thinking they can do it RIGHT NOW!  The June Rule is for snowflakes.  They'll have burnt themselves out by Memorial Day with the level of furor they hold today.

      1. No, what they're doing is circulating the Repeal Act 19-042. (the National Popular Vote law) petitions.  There are no approved Recall Polis petitions.  But the fury is strong in these ones – They are circulating no-popular-vote petitions all over the state, and judging by the intensity of emotion ginned up, are likely to get enough signatures for this one at least.

Brophy's watermelon blasters will also probably be happy to sign a "Recall Galindo" petition, even though they do not live in her district of HD50.

The recall facebook pages are full of people posting, "I live in Durango – where can I sign the Recall Galindo petition?" "I'm in Aurora – can I sign?"

I'm sure Secretary Griswold will be able to throw out thousands of signatures based on non-residency in HD50.  So, Yuma and Lincoln Watermelon Warriors – please do sign the Recall Galindo petitions.

            1. I'm not a big fan of the national popular vote notion. Maybe people should have done more to keep the Blue Wall in the upper Midwest intact.

        1. You can always sign with my favorite "Michael L. Mousse."  the recall organizers then have to pay $10 for the signature to the circulators.  But the Secretary of State doesn't actually count Micky Mouse as a registered voter.

  5. The fundraisers at recallspurlock.org are fronting a similar false flag theme, but focusing on the Red Flag law, which is a puzzler: the young woman was from Florida, which has a red flag law but she didn't own a firearm there, and once in Colorado she calmly purchased a shotgun and ammunition, again not meeting red flag law criteria.

But think of the difference if Colorado had a three day waiting period for all gun purchases.
