We feel sorry for whoever has to certify the ballot in Birmingham, Alabama, this year. As The Birmingham News explains:
When qualifying ended last Friday for June’s Democratic and Republican primaries, 11 people had signed up to run for the District 1 seat on the commission. Eight qualified in District 3, and six each in districts 2 and 4. All told, 34 candidates are running for the five County Commission positions.
Five seats, 34 candidates. Yowza!
