They are also agreeing most of the time.
That was it? 20 minutes? You’ve got to be kidding me.
That was meant to go into the now, very unnecessary, diary thread.
Too short to be useful. And both of them were too gentle to learn anything from it.
Both of them on that show were focused on not making a mistake. That’s what the front-runner does. How is it both of them think they’re in the lead?
Senator Bennet – “I’m not a politician, I listen.”
Speaker Romanoff – “People are hurting and we need to help them.”
I think Romanoff has got a much better message.
You’re a fanboy
The fact that people are unemployed or scared they could be has no bearing on what they want to hear in a closing argument.
Romanoff was very polished in the debate. He’s always been very charismatic and very telegenic but this unfortunately cuts both ways. While he appears very confident he also comes across as an experienced politician. He seems like a slick salesman at times. He takes every chance to plug his website or mention an endorsement. You would expect this of a candidate a couple times, but Andrew did this at least once in every answer. I also thought the repeated digs that Bennet “turned down” 9 repeated offers of other debates by Romanoff as a bit petty. I wish Bennet had just responded with “I would have liked to but I had a job to do that required me to be in Washington.”
I think Bennet did a pretty good job of conveying ability and confidence in his job but not as smooth on camera as Romanoff. I like that Bennet projects outsider in body language and the way he speaks about the issues. He doesn’t boil things down to a sound bite. He’s very knowledgeable and detailed as opposed to Romanoff who knows how to discuss issues in emotional soundbites.
In Short:
Bennet was summarizing who he is what you get with him as Senator.
Romanoff is still selling himself and still attempting to convince you.
Either way I wouldn’t say one did “better” than the other. It boils down to a question of style.
