Keep Those Campaigns Socially Distanced, Staffers

  • by: Colorado Pols

Here’s a screen shot we were forwarded of one Heba Abdelaal, a legislative aide for Sen. Cory Gardner, on a call with the Colorado Counties, Inc. earlier this month. This image was taken from an update from Sen. Gardner’s official-side legislative staff about official stuff.

And…that’s a Gardner for Senate campaign banner in the background! Official taxpayer-paid staffers are supposed to keep a bright white line in place between themselves and their bosses’ re-election campaign, which has become a point of minor controversy for Colorado politicos over the years. It’s not a referral to the Senate Ethics Committee, but it’s not appropriate, and it doesn’t seem in this image to be an accident.

Call it the 2020 version of “nonpartisan” staffers handing out campaign flyers. The rules still apply, folks.

  1. Didn't Mike Coffman have his office staff handing out flyers or some shit? I remember this but I can't find the link.

Also, the cased flag on top of the campaign banner. Cory didn't serve.

    1. The cased flag in the video probably commemorates a veteran of Ms. Abdelaal’s own family. Nevertheless, her choice to include it conspicuously above Cory’s campaign banner is obviously pandering.

Cory, howsabout those veterans catching coronavirus in VA hospitals and nursing homes? Wouldn’t it be patriotic to get everyone in those facilities tested? ~ 8000 patients and staff infected, over 400 dead. Not enough PPE for staff in a fricking veteran’s hospital. From the Trump appointed VA head, Robert Wilkie, just happy talk.

Ms.Abdelaal? Any comment? Cory? Some glibberish to spout about this?
