Last Friday, as readers know, there was a plot afoot for an illegal armed protest at the Colorado state capitol that failed to materialize under heavy police presence. Detailed “rules of engagement” instructions were given for participants to arrive with their weapons “hot, locked, and ready to rock,” and criteria outlined for when to open fire on police officer. Over the weekend, Brad Bunn, a far-right activist from Loveland, was arrested for possession of pipe bombs after boasting of his intention to show up at the state capitol weapons at the ready.

Although Brad Bunn is probably not himself going to make it, the event you can see above was posted to Facebook advertising a July 10 “Open Carry Rally” at the state capitol. To be clear, open carrying of firearms is expected to be just as illegal on July 10 as it is today–the apparent thinking on the part of our COVID-energized “freedom fighter” set is that by July 10, they’ll be able to assemble an armed posse so large the police won’t dare challenge their mail-order body-armored badassery.
We’d say our local “freedom fighters” will look good in those plastic zip-tie handcuffs the cops use on liberals.
