Boebert Poses With Sign Linking Her to QAnon

(Bad product placement – Promoted by Colorado Pols)

While attending her own fundraiser hosted by a Sandy Hook truther, Republican congressional candidate Lauren Boebert posed with a yard sign linking her to the QAnon conspiracies.

Pueblo County Patriots Mona Demicell, an enthusiastic QAnon believer, took the photo and shared it on Facebook.

The sign reads “NO to QAnon. NO to Insanity. NO to Boebert.”

It is located on the front lawn of a neighbor’s house near last week’s fundraiser in Pueblo.

Demicell routinely expresses her support for both Boebert and QAnon conspiracies on Facebook. In a July 9 post, she shared a QAnon post and added the hashtags, “#LaurenForColorado” and “#SilentMajority.”

Earlier this year Boebert told an online radio host that she was very familiar with QAnon and hoped it was real. In the weeks following, her campaign staff insisted she is not a follower of the cult-like conspiracy which the FBI considers a domestic terror threat.

Yet Boebert continues to make reference to QAnon-linked conspiracies, from implying that Tom Hanks is a pedophile, to posing for this latest picture taken by an unabashed QAnon believer.

Demicell took the photo of Boebert and the QAnon sign while attending the candidate’s fundraiser at the house of longtime Pueblo Republican donor Tom Ready.

Ready believes that the 2012 Sandy Hook massacre, which killed 26 people including 20 young children, was at least partially planned by the federal government in order to implement stricter gun laws. Last week he told the Colorado Times Recorder, “Some of the players involved I think were phony.”

Attempts to reach Demicell by phone and Facebook messenger were unsuccessful. A message left with the Boebert campaign requesting comment was not immediately returned.

  1.  More of a rhetorical question, but WTF is a " master Q comms decoder " ?  There just HAS TO BE a special handshake, and there are definitely tinfoil hats and decoder rings involved.

        1. You missed my point. Issues like DV need to be addressed at time of appointment. His personal life; like it or not; has no bearing on his job performance in that appointed position, unless he got indicted, tried, and convicted.

      1. Tom Ready is in the news again ( this Pols article, anyway) because he was the host for Boebert’s fundraiser.

i disagree strongly with CHB that a past history of domestic violence has no relevance to political appointments. Yes, his personal life has a bearing on whether or not he should be trusted with the public good.

To CHB’s point – Most abusers are never “indicted, tried, and convicted”. I recommend some n-depth reading to find out why not.

        1. Try reading what I actually wrote before mouthing off. I wrote that issues like DV need to be addressed AT TIME OF APPOINTMENT.

How about a link to something in Colorado, not New York? And maybe also stop assuming that no one else is as “educated” as you are.

          1. Domestic Violence in COLORADO

            This was prepandemic.
It’s only gotten worse along with the panic to buy guns.

If a history of DV is not addressed until the time of appointment then the vetting process has a major loophole in it sometimes referred to as wink-wink-nod-nod in some circles.

It would have been timely and helpful if HB20-1278 had been able to complete the hearing process and get a vote and a signature before the pandemic cut the session short.

          2. I read what you wrote, CHB. I disagreed with it, rather politely, I may add. That is not “mouthing off”.  But now I’m “ready” to mouth off big time.

You are hardly the first man to believe that any other man who is reasonably well dressed, friendly, charming, and affluent, prominent in the community, and sits on public lands councils, etc, cannot possibly be a monster who abuses women.

Yet the affable Dr. Thomas W Ready, Pueblo dentist and GOP chair, is that man. Lexisnexus Court Docket tells the tale, as does the Pueblo Chieftain Archives.Three different women have charged Ready with domestic assault and/or stalking.  All incidents happened in Colorado, by the way, from 1983 to 2009.

Ready’s latest victim received a protective order in 2009. I’m not going to the trouble to post screen shots of all this, though I have them, partly to protect the names of his victims, and also because I don’t think you are persuadable by any amount of evidence.

You think I’m being mean to a nice guy and that the Pueblo GOP should have investigated the DV allegations when they elected him Chair, National Delegate, etc. I think so, too. But like you, they really didn’t care, and would rather just ignore the obvious.

Pueblo Chieftain wrote about it in 1991. Pueblo is a large small town, and people knew what was going on. I wrote about it in 2014. The Pueblo GOP knew about Ready’s history when they voted him in as chair, as national delegate, nominated him as a county commissioner, attended his steak fry fundraisers. Nobody cared then or now…just like you.

I heard about the incident with Mrs. Ready from a mutual friend in Pueblo, who had worked in the schools with Mrs. Ready in 1991. Mrs. R was indeed beaten, bruised, and bloody after the incident, and traumatized from five years of previous abuse. The March 15 assault allegation was written up in the Pueblo Chieftain under the title “Pueblo GOP chief charged with domestic violence” on May 10, 1991, by Staff Writer. Thomas Ready denied any violence, of course, and he had a good lawyer who was able to get most of the record expunged. No bruised face photos on Lexisnexis case files now, just conversion codes.

You probably believe in Ready’s innocence because you met him in the course of your public lands work and thought he was a great guy.

I guess I’d like you to concede that you really don’t understand domestic violence – why it happens, why victims don’t report, or don’t report promptly, why they’re not believed, their reports dismissed or belittled, and the more prominent the abusers are, the more likely that their crimes will never be punished. I’d like you to concede that.

I’d also like to be 25 again, knowing what I know now.

            1. I understand domestic violence very well. It’s been in my family in the remote past. I simply stated that Ready was OK on the former Parks Board. Situations such as DV should have been covered at the time of appointment. I had to work with Ready in that professional position years ago. Working with someone in a professional capacity does not lend itself, nor should it, to an in-depth analysis of that individual’s personal life. Did you work with him?

I always enjoy watching you get up on your soapbox and trying to force your “unbiased, highly educated, better than anyone else, I’m always right and you have to concede that,” viewpoints on others. Sounds rather Trumpian.

              1. Same shit different day. We’re not going to agree.

As far as my post being “Trumpian”, I’d truly like to witness when DJT asks people to be more empathetic with domestic violence victims, more respectful of our choices, and less understanding and empathetic with abusers and perpetrators. That would be a great day.

              2. If you honestly think that you can shame somebody into not calling out DV anytime and anywhere they see it in any of it forms you are sadly mistaken.

Who shamed you into your silence? Did that start in your family's remote past? It's continued with you up until now and will continue beyond today?

                1. Kick: I made one simple statement about my own experience with Dr. Ready in his PROFESSIONAL capacity as an appointed member of the former State Parks Board.

If you or kwtree/mamajama want to get all emotional about that one simple statement, and come up with all sorts of assumptions leading to unsupported conclusions, feel free.

                  1. To be clear: If you were able to work with the repugnant Dr R and get some good done for Parks, more power to you. Some Polsters have lobbyist or legislative or legal gigs,  for which working with awful people that one disagrees with  is a required skill. I couldn’t do it.

My issue is that you imply blame for the victims who somehow neglected to get Ready “indicted, tried, and convicted” in time for the Parks appointment.

There was direct and indirect witness intimidation, I understand. There were deals made. This is common in DV cases with wealthy defendants. My issue is that you clearly don’t believe abuse happened, or if it did, that it is a “personal matter”. But fine, no sympathy for Ready’s female victims.

What about Ready’s well-known racism and promoting of conspiracy theories? Is that also just a “personal choice” that doesn’t detract from collegial fellowship?

Those propensities of Ready’s were common public knowledge whenever he was appointed to that Parks group. Why weren’t they disqualifying?

                    1. I imply nothing, except in your imagination. And now you're saying that I "clearly don't believe" abuse happened. Doesn't matter what I believed or didn't believe.

As to why DV allegations did not disqualify him from the appointment, I do not know.
