But that is going to be an incredibly frustrating job.
whenever Dems have a majority in the House again…but in the minority, he’s in a basically powerless position on the committee.
When you are in the majority, the key to holding a Rules Committee post is loyalty to the party leadership.
When you are in the minority, however, the key to being effective in a Rules Committee post, which the minority leadership presumably understands, is the ability to convince the majority on occassion to act in ways that you have no power, when push comes to shove, to force them to act.
Clearly, somebody in the House leadership thinks that Jared Polis have a silver tounge.
… or a golden victory fund.
And I think Jared will be able to influence things some there.
