UPDATE 5:20PM: In a speech best described as incoherent and so packed with misinformation that most news networks cut away early on, President Donald Trump again declared himself the winner of the 2020 election and vowed “tremendous litigation” would put a stop to “illegal voting”–for which no evidence exists:
"It's amazing how those mail-in ballots are so one-sided," Trump said, suggesting a baseless conspiracy.
He spent months discouraging his supporters from voting by mail.

An outcome of the 2020 Presidential election is getting ever closer. As The New York Times reports, Pennsylvania may announce results this evening:
With much of the presidential race hinging on the outcome in Pennsylvania, the state’s top election official said that she expected the “overwhelming majority” of the state’s 550,000 remaining votes to be tallied by Thursday and that a state winner “definitely could” be announced by the end of the day.
President Trump’s lead in the state over Joseph R. Biden Jr. has dwindled since Wednesday from more than 10 percentage points to less than two points, with fewer than 115,000 votes now separating the candidates. If Mr. Biden wins the state, he wins the presidency.
We’re still awaiting word on ballot counts in Arizona, Georgia, and Nevada, but Pennsylvania’s 20 Electoral Votes — if they are awarded to Democrat Joe Biden — would make these deliberations moot in terms of determining the next President of the United States. If Pennsylvania goes for Biden it will put the Democratic nominee at 273 Electoral Votes.
Results in Arizona may be available on Friday, and a new batch of numbers is expected today out of Nevada — though counting in that state will continue well into the weekend. Biden may also yet take Georgia.
The bottom line: It’s possible that we will know the winner of the Presidential election as soon as tonight.

Tonight can't be soon enough! Unfortunately, I suspect we are looking at Friday afternoon before there is blue wall that Trump's followers can't deny.
Never underestimate what those people can deny: evolution, climate change, COVID-19.
They are already lawyering up – if you can use that term when talking about Rudy Giuliani and the legal team he is assembling. As one of the CNN folk (I think it was Jake Tapper) said earlier today, "He's no James Baker."
I think Trump will try to drag it out for another month or so, then he'll take a one-way trip overseas somewhere for a "vacation" in his new home country.
Maybe Erdogan will provide him with a cozy little villa on the Turkish coast.
Big news: Perdue is now below 50% which will force a second GA senate runoff in January where the fate of the Senate majority will be decided. GA GOP voters will be demoralized and depressed having lost Trump nationally and probably in GA as well.
My daughter and son-in-law in Atlanta have offered free housing to Barack for the duration of the runoff campaigns. 👍
Me oh, my oh, the money that's going to be rolling into GA for the next couple of months!
I expect people to follow Jon Caldera’s lead and move there to register and vote.
What’s the weather like in Savannah or Athens in December/January?
Ice storms. Sleet that coats everything and wet cold.
Perfect!
Savannah, Athens or Atlanta?
Where best to organize

That is good news. I can't take any more of the Ghoul from KY holding up virtually all of America's business so he can singularly fixate on appointing more unqualified, partisan hack judges. Gives me hope.
Sweet!
Look at the “Democratic Crescent”(trademark pending) in the western US from Washington, OR, CA, NV, AZ, NM and up to CO.
Trump is on TV now complaining that he is the victim of voter suppression orchestrated by polling firms which inflated Biden’s support before the election to discourage his supporters.
He is also claiming that the “election counting machinery” in the remaining states is in the hands of Democratic politicians. Someone needs to explain that to Doug Ducey and Brian Kemp.
And he said that this will probably end up in the “highest court of the land.”
Where he thinks "his judges" will re-install him.
The Supremes won’t help Trump retain power. Their decisions lately have been all about preserving the right to vote. Kavanaugh , Gorsuch, and Roberts have been joining the liberals.
Even Barrett, if she truly is an originalist, needs some evidence of electoral fraud besides “Trump says so.”
Now, if some GOP statehouse wants to allow its electors to counter the will of their voters in order to help Trump out, who knows what SCOTUS will do? Literally, who knows? Any of you legal experts want to guess? I know what their voters that stood in lines for hours will do if that happens. It will be ugly.
And Biden is ahead in Georgia with 99% of the votes counted.
And there is finally consensus that Biden won Arizona.
There is a federal statute that says that any changes any state makes in how electoral votes are awarded must be enacted before the election.
But here is a hypothetical to consider: what if the Georgia or Arizona legislature were to try to change the state law, and it ends up in the US Supreme Court? Isn't there a federalism argument that the federal law is unconstitutional since the original plan was to give states the power to decide how to select electors? A federalism argument that might appeal to Thomas, Alito, Gorsuch, Kavanaugh, and Mrs. Jesse Barrett?
Here is my question: if a Republican legislature like PA, WI or MI tried to amend the state's law establishing how electoral votes were to be awarded, could not the Democratic governor in each of those states veto such legislative change?
It won't be dead voters, non resident voters (almost always R voters anyway) or other false votes that will be the argument.
The argument will be in PA (which will be irrelevant if Biden wins AZ and NV or GA or both) .
It will be this – the state legislature (R) wanted to make the PA mail in rule be that mailed ballots must be postmarked and received by Nov 3, 8pm to be valid. (Plan Red). A PA state court ruled that the rule allowing ballots postmarked by 11/3 and received by 11/6would be valid. (Plan Blue)
This has been appealed to SCOTUS who have (so far) not decided to take the case.
It won't (and shouldn't) matter what any other state rule is.
Blue Plus – SCOTUS has said state courts are best suited to interpret state law (PA court decision should stand). SCOTUS already did something similar in the WI primary.
Red Plus – SCOTUS's newest and her ilk, have expressed desire for state legislatures to get to make whatever constitutional rule they want.
If everything already called stands (incl AZ) and either NV or GA or both go Biden – PA doesn't matter.
"And there is finally consensus that Biden won Arizona."
Checking MSNBC's web site just now, NBC has yet to call Arizona.
I've written before that no politician is perfect. But in AZ, John McCain was about as close to being a beloved figure as a politician can achieve. I wonder if Trump enablers can even begin to understand how badly Trump hurt himself with AZ voters by continually slamming McCain, even after he died?
Of course, he doesn't. That would require self-awareness; a quality of which he is devoid.
And remember who called AZ for Biden first?
Fox News!
Guessing a 3,000 vote win in GA.
For who?
Whom…
Which?
If NV is the next to be called by all networks then Fox News will be the first to call it for Biden since they’re the only one (oops, plus AP) calling AZ. Sweet.
I would have preferred a Biden landslide, but I do enjoy watching Trump lose whatever sense of reality he had. Imagine at some point on election night it was clear he was going to win Florida, and he was ahead in PA, WI, MI, and GA. He was, once again, gonna prove all the haters wrong, and temporarily fill that void where his soul should be. But, over the last three days the vote has steadily moved away from him. This slow count is painful to me, but it must be slow torture for Trump. He is trapped on the Trump train, headed off the cliff, at 5 mph.
November 5-6, 2020 … will enter history of Trump as
06:01 a.m. ET, Nov. 6
Biden …49.4%.. 2,449,580
Trump ..49.4%.. 2,448,484
Biden's now up in both GA and PA.
oh, good. Now Trump will concede.
Hahaha…good one, Madcow!!
He's REEAAAALLLLYYYY not going to be able to handle the loss, will blame all those around him, plus the rest of us. And frankly, he will become even more dangerous than he has already been. He needs an intervention and there's no one to do that.

It’s gonna be a savagely jacked up couple of months!
So what job does Stacy Abraham want in the Biden administration? I figure she deserves whatever she wants.
Agreed – but Mitch has already announced he won’t be approvin’ any radicals to the Biden Cabinet. I’m guessing he considers any black woman a radical at this point, Candace Owens nonwithstanding..
Let’s get those two Georgia seats and let the spirit of John Lewis guide this next Congress.
Well, Stacy Abrams can become a long-term "Acting Secretary" of whatever the hell she wants.
If Dems don’t take the Senate and Moscow Mitch refuses to confirm Biden’s cabinet, that “acting” trick Yammie-pie used to such disastrous effect, will come back to bite ol’ Mitch right in the hind parts.
SHe can Ivanka's or Jared's gig. Not confirmable
