    1. Yeah, that was hilarious. How did your azaleas do this past spring? Do you think you’re going to be able to make it to Uncle Fred’s house for thanksgiving?

      Love,

      Your Grandson.

  1. We mustn’t let teh gayz ruin all of this:

I mean, gay marriage doesn’t even have women in it, who are they supposed to subjugate and view as chattel?

  2. It’s not everyday I spill coffee on myself laughing before 8am. I hate to post anything serious (which is why I came here) so I won’t.  Who knew Libertad could be so dang funny? Next time — someone warn me.

Today is my birthday. My husband said to “dress for the theatre” and be ready at 5pm. If he’s not taking me to see Hair downtown, I’m really going to be disappointed. I dumped a boyfriend in high school because he did the same thing and we ended up at a Pistons game. (And yes, my house is always protected by attack dogs and a sophisticated alarm system, so that is why I am broadcasting today’s plans on the internet…)

Daft Punk — I asked Emily Sirota about the question we talked about. I’ll be writing up the interview soon — watch for it, okay?  And please, someone (Daft? David?) please consider interviewing Anne Rowe. I want to give equal time. The more Denverites know about their candidates, the better.

  3. quick question for ya … American Revolution occurred in 16th or 18th century?

That was an easy one — something any fool running for Pres oughtta know straightaway.

Hmm, seems Parry’s C in TX A&M History of U.S. might have been a lil’ too generous.

    ABC affiliate in NH reports:

Asked about states’ rights during a post-debate visit to the Beta Theta Pi fraternity at Dartmouth College, Perry said:

“Our Founding Fathers never meant for Washington, D.C. to be the fount of all wisdom. As a matter of fact they were very much afraid if that because they’d just had this experience with this far-away government that had centralized thought process and planning and what have you, and then it was actually the reason that we fought the revolution in the 16th century was to get away from that kind of onerous crown if you will,” Perry said.

KTRK’s Ted Oberg caught up with Perry outside the debate watch party, and Perry admitted debates aren’t his strong suit.  “I just try to get up every day and do my job and you know debates are not my strong suit but you know, we get up and do them and we just try to let people see our passion and I think that’s what we did tonight,” he said.

Fuxsake, he got this wrong at the after party and when asked Parry admits he can’t hold his own when debatin’.  On toppa that could anyone watching last night honestly say Parry showed any passion?

Best debate Tweet from Ryan Lizza: “When Perry camp said Perry would get more sleep, didn’t realize they meant DURING the debate.”  What a tool.

    1. because sometimes people don’t remember that the 1700s are the 18th century but where did he get 16th?  Same place Palin got Paul Revere riding to warn the British that the Americans had guns and were ready to lock and load?  But then I keep forgetting that it’s patriotic not to be too educated (so elitist) or know too much. Presidents are supposed to be average guys you could have a beer with.

        1. And a mistake in date arithmetic is not like Palin’s clearly having no idea what Paul Revere’s ride was about so she had give it her best shot , making something up on the fly.  And, yes I know the whole elementary school version of the thing isn’t an accurate picture either but more accurate than Palin’s.

  4. “I want to go to war with China,”

was a Santorum declaration at last night’s debate said in reference to a possible trade war resulting from a Congressional bill to penalize China for devaluing its currency.

Funniest debate Tweet from@pourmecoffee:  China is probably Googling Santorum to see who this guy is that wants war with them is. Confusing night for them.”

  5. AP report out of TN:

Tennessee state Rep. Curry Todd, a lead sponsor of a law allowing handgun carry permit holders to bring guns into bars, has been arrested on charges of drunken driving and possession of a gun while under the influence.

Police say in court documents that the Collierville Republican was pulled over in Nashville late Tuesday. He allegedly failed a roadside sobriety test and refused to take a breathalyzer. A loaded Smith & Wesson 38 Special was found in a holster stuffed between the driver seat and the center console.

Guess ya gotta pack heat at Country Western karaoke night.

  6. Former US Attorney Troy Eid and State Representative Jim Kerr have both announced their desire to succeed Mike Kopp in the State Senate.  This could be a nasty fight.
