    1. It closed before I was old enough (or maybe interested enough) to see any shows there. Thanks for the Tommy Bolin. I have Teaser and Private Eyes loaded on the iPod and always appreciate when songs show up in the shuffle.

Found some info online showing bands that performed at Ebbet’s.

  1. Never forget the year in high school when I discovered Alladin Sane, Heroes and then Scary Monsters. I got to the glam party late….

    Fame ’90 remix version:

  2. A coworker put this up on his Facebook status yesterday night…

    Facebook challenge

    1) Find out what song was number one when you were born

    2) Find that song on Youtube

    3) Post that video on your wall without shame

    And posted this video:

    I’m officially old.

        1. but I remember it. There was a time when Michael Jackson’s popularity was so great, you literally couldn’t turn on the radio without hearing his music. Ah, Paul, you had no idea how soon Michael would fuck you over…

Yeah, I was never impressed much with the Jackson/McCartney collaborations, but honestly, very little Paul did after Wings was worth much. I’ll just listen to the song someone once told me was Lennon’s favorite McCartney song instead. (Probably not true, BTW, but I like to pretend that it is.)

        2. Sounds like something playing at the end of “Dr. Strangelove”.  The day after I was born, the US tested it’s first hydrogen bomb.  Coincidence?  I think not!

          1. Even though she was my mother’s age.

She could sure sell a song.

Another song from the ice rink where I used to work.  Not to mention that it was written as a message to every young boy who was overseas during WWII and missing his girlfriend.

Although it did not chart until the 1950s, it still reassured the troops serving in Korea that their girlfriends would be there for them when they got home.

Beautiful recording.  Thanks for posting it.
