As seen (and Tweeted) in the House Finance Committee today, here’s Rep. Don Beezley (R-Broomfield) catching some winks during a hearing. Rep. Beezley announced recently that he isn’t interested in a second term after winning one of 2010’s closest state house elections–and, well, this is how one behaves when one has checked out of one’s job, isn’t it?
On the other hand, we’re told it was pretty stuffy in the Legislative Services Building.

props for making constructive use of his time.
Anyway, it’s not as if any of the testimony in any of those committee hearings is going to have an impact oR sway on how either party’s legislators vote. The best that ever comes from a legislator listening to testimony is that it can sometimes provide him or her with a quip to help justify their vote, but having a justification for the way you vote is really just vestigial to the process.
if these folks don’t show up for hearings they may have trouble claiming their per diem.
Meetings can lower IQ, make you brain-dead
If outside people come to meet us that is fine, but there are zero intra company meetings. None. Haven’t had one in 11 years.
Awesome.
