    1. You know what I think goes hand in hand with this? Companies changing their focus to stockholder value exclusively and Wall St inventing ever more different financial instruments making a giant part of our economy gambling.

In all of that workers, customers, product quality, long term planning went out the window.

  1. Can we start feeling hopeful about the election yet? I know we need to continue working our asses off and donating to make it, but if we do… Could we see a very Democratic night?

And Ukraine, can we feel good there yet? It's critical that the West step up feeding them the weapons they need. But that support does appear to be increasing. And the Ukrainians are making incredibly good use of it.

    So, can we feel hopeful?

    1. To quote one of our fellowPolCats:

Don’t count your apples until your chickens are *ucked! (or something very close to that 🤪)

Jokes aside, yes, I’m with you David: it’s a time for cautious optimism.

      1. I am quite optimistic about the State as a whole: the statewides and control of both houses of the legislature.

I am hopeful about retaining control of the US Senate, and winning CD8

I am less optimistic about retaining control of the US house or flipping CD3 (but cudos to Adam for the effort he is putting in trying).

And I am utterly scared shitless about 2024.

        1. We can win the Governorship & SoS in the battleground states and the Supreme Court can still fuck us by saying the state legislature is the final word on election law. And with the Gerrymandering, that would screw us.

    2. Ukraine got itself a pretty good weapons resupply this week… from Russia.

There's a developing rumor that Kherson RU troops are negotiating a surrender due to lack of ammo. If Russia's Kherson front collapses I suspect a general fallback to 2014 lines will soon follow, and I'm not sure Luhansk and Donetsk breakaway governments still have a functioning military to hold on after that.

      1. I believe yesterday there was an open letter signed by 30 Russian municipal officials calling for Putin's resignation, and a Russian lawmaker went on a political talk show on a state-owned TV channel (NTV) and just said it – Moscow cannot win the war in Ukraine.

Tides are turning and people are starting to speak up.  Pooty Poot better have a damn good food taster.

  2. Fat Donnie from Queens summoned his consiglieres to his golf course in Sterling, VA today. But he wasn’t there to golf. There are no golf bags on these carts. He was meeting with Kevin McCarthy, Devin Nunes, Sean Hannity, son Eric, Trump attorney Jim Trusty and a few others.  Perhaps finding a safe space where there are no listening devices?  I think they’re in the early stages of Trump Arraignment Syndrome.

    1. I don't even really wonder what is being discussed. " Ok, you guys take the fall for me on this one, and then I'll pardon all of you once I'm re-elected"
