So it turns out those shitty pillows the crazy guy sells have Fedbugs 🤣
Republicans imagine their reality doesn't include a changing climate.
From a Christian pastor:
“The “unborn” are a convenient group of people to advocate for. They never make demands of you; they are morally uncomplicated unlike the incarcerated, addicted or the chronically poor; they don’t resent your condescension or complain that are not politically correct; unlike widows, they don’t ask you to question patriarchy;
Unlike orphans, they don’t need money, education, or childcare; unlike aliens, they don’t bring all the racial, cultural, and religious baggage you dislike; they allow you to feel good about yourself without any real work at creating or maintaining relationships.
And once they are born, you can forget about them, because they cease to be unborn…
You can love the unborn and advocate for them without substantially challenging your own wealth, power or privilege, without re-imagining social structures, apologizing, or making reparations to anyone.
They are, in short, the perfect people to love if you want to “claim” you love Jesus but actually dislike people who breathe.
Prisoners? Immigrants? The sick? The poor? Widows? Orphans? All the groups that are specifically mentioned in the Bible?
They all get thrown under the bus for the unborn”

The world became a slightly better place yesterday when Ken Starr died. If a hell there be, here's hoping an especially ghastly corner of it is reserved for ol' Ken.
Good riddance. Maybe I'll smoke an organically-humidified cigar in his honor?
Apollyon missed one yesterday.
With Lindsey Graham’s gift yesterday, I have a question/proposal that might be very effective.
What if Schumer & Pelosi tell the Republicans that they can bring all their crazy proposals to the floor for a vote. With the restriction that each bill needs to be single issue and short so it’s a clear vote on that issue.
Outlawing gay marriage – vote. Outlawing contraception without a husband’s approval – vote. Outlawing interracial marriage – vote.
Get every incumbent on the record and every challenger can be directly asked about a specific bill. And all of them clear enough in their intent.
‘Would that work well?
Well, I love single page bills.
Has there ever been one?
Cory Gardner once wrote a one-sentence "bill."
Problem would be the debate time in the Senate. Unless there is a passed cloture motion (60 votes), debate can go on and on. Even with cloture, 20 hours of debate unless the Senate passes a rule for that piece of legislation that says something different.
And there are a few other pressing matters left to get done before the NEXT break for "district business" — aka campaigning. October 1 is the budget deadline… need bills or continuing resolution to pass.
It's only infinite debate if it's scheduled for debate. Tell them they can make it a substitution amendment to the House-passed abortion rights bill if you're worried about it hijacking debate.
Interesting notion, David. Keeping in mind, however, that recalcitrance, petulance, and, contrarianism are long- wielded weapons in both houses. Such an agreement might be tough to find.

Why Colorado Gov. Jared Polis could answer Democrats’ 2024 prayers
[I think the link will elude paywall] If it doesn't or if you don't want to click there, you can get aa sense from a couple of paragraphs….
National and State GOP are seeing those same possibilities for Polis. There are 2 huge billboards in the West Colfax and Federal area, decrying Polis' supposed "Dismantling of the criminal justice system".
I have no idea what they're on about. But they are spending money messaging in a high-traffic, working class area. Why?
This is not about boosting Heidi Ganahl. They know she has no chance at the governorship in the 2022 election. This is their eye on 2024, and trying to set up a narrative about Polis before he even runs.
There may only be room for one brilliant, white, male, family man, homosexual amongst the leading Democratic contenders, and I think Buttigieg is in the lead. Having said that, would a Buuigieg – Polis ticket cause some Republican heads to explode?
I love reading Jennifer Rubin's chronicles about Dear Leader's legal travails!
