Romney-Ryan Front Range Hopscotch Continues

  • by: Colorado Pols

The Fort Collins Coloradoan:

Today’s campaign visit to Fort Collins by Republican vice presidential nominee U.S. Rep. Paul Ryan is expected to be speedy. He will zip to Colorado Springs for another campaign event immediately afterward.

He will arrive at Fort Collins-Loveland Municipal Airport one hour to 90 minutes before his scheduled noon campaign stop to promote the ticket he shares with Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney at Walker Manufacturing, 5925 E. Harmony Road.

Doors open at 9:30 a.m., and tickets are free but not required to attend.

After Paul Ryan’s rally in Fort Collins this morning, he heads to Colorado Springs for a rally this evening at America the Beautiful Park. Both Ryan’s stops in Fort Collins and Colorado Springs today, like Mitt Romney’s events in Jefferson County and Pueblo Sunday and Monday, appear to have been heavily advertised. You can see the ad above to Ryan’s rally, which pops up at the Coloradoan, and Romney’s ad on the front page of Saturday’s Denver paper, via Daily Kos:

The local author over at Daily Kos notes a robocall her household received for the Romney event Sunday as well as this ad, and asserts that Barack Obama’s campaign appearances in Colorado have not required the same level of promotion to achieve a good turnout–in just about every case, we believe, larger than Romney’s or Ryan’s events. We’ve also heard that a plane overflew Pueblo on Sunday advertising Romney’s rally there, but we haven’t confirmed that.

We can’t say we’ve followed every promotion for presidential candidate visits, but it’s true we don’t remember any of Obama’s visits being preceded by this much paid media to turn out a crowd. And if a mere news report of Obama coming to town is enough to bring out 15,000, while Romney has to spend thousands on ads to draw, say, 5,000…that’s noteworthy, isn’t it?

    1. how much ya wanna bet it’s all “Ryan, Ryan, Ryan …” and folks conveniently forget who heads the ticket.  GOPers just don’t like Mitt and it’s getting worse everyday.

  1. Does that ad say Denver, CO 80238 for D’Evelyn High School?  It’s actually 80235.  Can’t believe they didn’t proofread their own ad.

80238 is Stapleton/Montbello areas of eastern Denver.
