At Least We're Not This Hard Up For Material

NBC News reports from the great state of Maine:

Colleen Lachowicz is a Democratic candidate running for State Senate in Maine. She’s also a level 85 orc in the massively popular online game “World of Warcraft.” And for that, the Republican party says she is unfit for office.

Maine’s GOP has accused Lachowicz of living a “bizarre double life” and set up a website meant to out her participation in the popular online game — a game that currently boasts some 10 million players around the world…

Maine’s Republican Party has also sent out a press release titled:  “Democratic Senate Candidate Colleen Lachowicz’s Disturbing Alter-Ego Revealed” which accuses her of living a “time-consuming double life.” The party has also sent out post cards that, like the website, put her “World of Warcraft” character on display and highlight her online comments.

Here in Colorado, we’ve got scandals brewing in state legislative races over drug arrests, tax scofflaws, and support for draconian abortion bans. If we ever get to the point in this state where either party is seriously attacking candidates for playing World of Warcraft, this can only mean that we’re running out of mud to sling. Perhaps Maine is some kind of paradise where they’ve solved every actual issue confronting the state, and this nonsense is all that’s left?

Honestly, there are days when a level 85 orcish rogue in our legislature would be helpful.

  1. Well either

    1. CPols is hard up for this material b/c you made a diary out of it as you try to bury, like the middle class, the glaring news of Romney’s drubbing of the failed President.

    and/or

    2. Youre so tied to the Democrat Alliance that you envy any material that you can diary-up and bury, like the middle class, all the excuses of Obamas failed presidency as evidenced by his piss poor performance at DU.

Flash: CNNs post debate voter poll showed Romney won the debate on this issues 67 to 25.

Being in the tank for Obama can feel tough, if you need a refill stay away from CA …. the pain at the pump is $6/gallon.

  2. Surely this revelation must be a plus with Maine voters who might have been concerned that a Democratic woman running for office might be soft on scimitar control, too hesitant to make war, and not tough enough on crime.

Meanwhile, Democrats concerned that a middle class, middle aged white woman might not endorse diversity, might be reassured that she embraces another color, even if it is green.

And, as for time consuming double lives, doesn’t that embrace just about everyone seeking elective office?
