OK, people need to let off a little steam, I guess. And the folks on the right who were so arrogantly SURE that they were going to “take back” “THEIR” country on November 6th are still working through various stages of grief.
But how many threats and treasonous statements does the nation need to take?
We have dimwit Eric Dondero – an inconsequential little prick who makes a point of trying to humiliate food stamp recipients each time he goes shopping – who has now encouraged people to shit on the lawns of Democrats, and who vows never to speak to a Democrat again for the rest of his life. (Now THERE’s a constructive response to an election setback.)
And then that fat little girl who worked for Cold Stone Creamery who called Obama the n word on her Facebook page and said she hoped he’d be assassinated. And was surprised that everyone was so upset about it.
And the Texas politician – and official state schoolbook screener! – who has declared that his fellow citizens who voted for Obama are “maggots” and who wants to “separate” Texas from the union.
And Donald Trump with his farcical calls for “revolution” and a “march on Washington” to overturn this “tragedy.”
The list goes on and on and on, and includes many elected representatives who should of course know better.
I suppose we should just let these idiots talk themselves out, but it does bother me a little, tiny bit that they are, of course, advocating TREASON plain and simple.
But we don’t dare call it that, do we? So these right-wing fascists keep calling for a coup d’etat with impunity.

Stages of grief? Yes indeed – anger and denial.
Right now, I’m actually happy these people are going overboard. First, none of this talk is coming from anyone of real influence. (People may agree with Donald Trump, but I really doubt that anyone wonders what he thinks, as opposed to Rush, O’Reilly and the rest.) Second, I don’t find violent talk – when it comes from nobodies – inherently alarming, because most are cowards who would probably become very contrite if the Secret Service showed up on their doorstep. Third, and most important, it DOES reveal their lunacy, which can only continue to scare swing voters into voting Democratic and marginalizing these twits ever further.
That said, I am not trying to downplay these things. I have always said that political violence* in this country is an almost exclusively right-wing phenomenon, at least since the last of the 60s/70s radical groups were all arrested and tried. People only seem to shoot at the White House when the occupant is a Democrat, after all. Talk about “second amendment remedies” don’t come from liberals, and gun sales don’t spike when the GOP wins elections.
The influential figures in conservative media are responsible for this all. They use reckless rhetoric (at least until someone gets hurt – if there was anything good about the Giffords shooting, it was that they did tone it down, finally) and they lie to their audience. Their audience is now shocked and angry, and I’m honestly surprised that they haven’t really tried to say that the election was stolen. (Republicans LOVE to use charges against Democrats that have already been used against them.) But I worry about these people. Most are law abiding, but it only takes one deranged person to cause a tragedy.
Still, for now, it’s just talk. I’ll worry more when someone tries to organize something, like the frigging militias of the 90s. Their movement is responsible for Oklahoma City. McVeigh and Nichols were their product, and that’s on their heads forever.
*Specifically, violence against people – there are those on the far left for whom rioting and property destruction, also a kind of violence, are legitimate tactics. Those people suck.
That said, the most serious assassination attempts taken – Ford in the 70s, Reagan in 81, Bush the Elder (whatever the year) and Giffords in 11 – were done by mentally disturbed loners who had no apparent political agenda. Or in Bush’s case, no American politics. I welcome corrections.
is the key. I believe I remember reading that treason requires more than one person.
If Texas tries to secede we should of course not allow it. But, secondarily the feds ought to remove all the military bases and therefore enough revenue to really give Texas something to worry about, revenue
You are emoting, a flaw common amongst most Democrats.
Treason is defined by The United States Constitution (Supreme Law of the Land) as,
Article III section 3
Treason against the United States, shall consist only in levying War against them, or in adhering to their Enemies, giving them Aid and Comfort. No Person shall be convicted of Treason unless on the Testimony of two Witnesses to the same overt Act, or on Confession in open Court.
If you had been around here for a while, you would have seen me school some now-departed right wing morons on this very issue. (Oh, “Another skeptic,” I miss having fun with your idiotic rants. That said, please continue to stay away.)
Anyway, it’s the very height of irony to see someone who lobs against Lincoln this very charge. Just one more reason that you’re the laughing stock of Colorado Pols.
Take notes, imbecile. Treason is “committed,” not waged, as in the Confederate states comitted treason by “levying war” against the United States.
War is “waged.” As in Lincoln waged war against the treasonous Confederate governments, freed the slaves, and forever enshrined himself in the hearts of all real Americans.
Nockworst, therefore, is not a real American. He’s just a piece of lunchmeat.
I hope the weather is good – I quit the Vets Parade in Denver yesterday after just a few minutes: too cold and wet.
Is there any fee to participate ?
If so, is The Donald offering “scholarships ?”
I googled, and it looks like it was just a rant.
Hey, who’s going to the Inauguration ?
One of my brothers went 4 years ago; he wuz pumped. Wonder how he feelz now ?
4 years ago he was working in DC and went to everything. DC was a big party for most of a week before. And, he finally found a reason to motivate him to get up very, very early to grab a spot on the Mall. He loved it all. I was jealous
