Remember, folks: Tomorrow is Election Day in Colorado. If you still have a ballot at home, DO NOT put it in the mail. Ballots must be received by 7:00 pm on Tuesday, Nov. 7 (postmarks don’t count). If you need information on dropboxes or have any other election-related questions, go to GoVoteColorado.com.
We know from data provided today by the Colorado Secretary of State’s office that there are still a LOT of ballots floating around or buried underneath a stack of papers on kitchen tables.
As of Sunday evening, 830,599 ballots had been returned in Colorado. For context, the total number of ballots cast in the last off-year election of 2021 was 1,560,661.
It’s unlikely that ballot returns will reach 2021 levels, but we should at least crack the 1 million mark.
Return those ballots, people!

Everything bad happens in off years because only the wrong people bother to vote.
I'm hoping for better this year but I'm not optimistic.
People with skin the game (i.e., property owners) vote in odd-numbered year elections because it's all about TABOR issues.
Unaffiliateds lean Democratic in Colorado. That may or may not be good news for HH.
But probably it's good news for the school boards. Douglas County is bleeding teachers who won't put up with the anti-CRT, anti- kid agenda of the MAGA crowd.
Republicans are overperforming right now – about 31% of ballots turned in, but only about 23% of registered active voters, and they've had 15K more ballots turned in than Dems. This will change of course, at least I hope!
You can compare this year's returns to those of 2021 & 2019 in a graph on the Secretary of State's News Release https://www.coloradosos.gov/pubs/newsRoom/pressReleases/2023/2023CoordinatedElectionBallotReturnReporting2daysOut.pdf
Numbers of returned ballots are tracking reasonably well … but it is worth mentioning that SoS statistics show active voters have changed
2023 — 3,927,183
2021 — 3,887,073
2019 — 3,514,648
