Boebert Reaches Into Republican Primary In Texas

  • by: Colorado Pols

This morning, Colorado’s America’s most vulnerable incumbent Republican Rep. Lauren Boebert did something she in her term and a half in Congress has almost never done for local candidates who (at least at one time) could have used her help–an endorsement, not just for a fellow Republican but wading into a safe-seat GOP primary in Texas to succeed longtime Rep. Michael Burgess, who announced his retirement last week:

When you first Google the name Brandon Gill, Google assumes you’re searching for the actor who appeared in such films as The Sorcerer’s Apprentice and an installment of the Big Momma franchise. But no, we’re talking about the real Brandon Gill–who you probably haven’t heard of either, but there’s a good reason why Lauren Boebert has:

Collaborating on the impactful film “Police State” with his father-in-law, Dinesh D’Souza, [Pols emphasis] Gill’s dedication to preserving the freedoms Americans hold dear is unwavering. With his wife, an influential Christian author and pro-life activist, Danielle, Gill will be a voice for the smallest among us. Inspired by their daughter Marigold, Gill strives for a brighter and better future for all American children.

The real Brandon Gill is the son-in-law of one of the nation’s foremost election conspiracy theorists, Dinesh D’Souza, whose career has endured several cycles of hype followed by humiliation until Donald Trump’s bubble of alternate reality provided D’Souza with a pardon and safe ecosystem to market his overwhelmingly discredited disinformation. D’Souza and Boebert are longtime mutual admirers, and we assume the relationship that led to Boebert being one of Gill’s first endorsements was born or at least grew at Mar-a-Lago. This is the same MAGA dead-ender crowd that includes indicted ex-Mesa County Clerk Tina Peters in their roster of heroes, despite Peters’ alleged felony crimes failing to uncover any actual evidence of election fraud in the 2020 presidential election–and with whom we’re expected to believe Boebert has made a clean break.

In the 2022 elections here in Colorado, Boebert’s lack of interest in campaigning as a team with the rest of the Republican ticket was highly conspicuous. Boebert has only given out her endorsement in the rarest of circumstances here in Colorado, even as she toured with her back-bencher bestie Rep. Matt Gaetz for his re-election in Florida. After a fateful evening in September plunged Boebert into the worldwide scandal sheets, we think it’s safe to say that the value of Boebert’s endorsement has changed.

For the better in the suburbs of Dallas where the “real” Brandon Gill is running? If so, it’s not something they’re likely to admit in church.

  1. Kiss. Of. Death. (B*#bert's endorsement, that is)

Gill's also the founder of DC Enquirer, and I'm not linking to it here because the content is so predictable. All MAGA all the time.

    1. Perhaps he can legitimately list his name as "Let's Go Brandon" on the Texas ballot, unlike the denials that diminished the 2022 candidacy of Dave Williams.

  2. As a native Austinite, I can highly recommend to Boobert..Sugar, it's time to for you to move to San Antonio.  Joe Oltmann claims S.A., and Crazy Jones and Rogun are 50 miles away.  You would fit right in…
