It may seem hard to believe, but 2024 is already halfway over. There might not be any Colorado politician more ready for this year to just end entirely than State Rep. Mike Lynch (R-Wellington).
Lynch began the year as the House Minority Leader and a plausibly-strong challenger for Congress in CO-04. Things went downhill from there.
Just weeks into the Colorado legislative session, Lynch was ousted as House Minority Leader after details of an egregious DUI arrest from September 2022 were made public. Lynch remained in the state legislature and continued running for Congress in CO-04, but he has struggled to gain traction with questionable event planning and a television ad featuring the candidate next to a horse’s ass.
Lynch now appears to be on his way — along with many other Republicans — to a crushing Primary Election defeat to carpetbagging Congressperson Lauren Boebert. To cap things off, Lynch was just lampooned on national television because of a segment from last week’s CO-04 candidate debate hosted by 9News. Take a look:

Kyle Clark should really run for governor.
One must travel all the way across the pond to the UK to find something that beats Mike Lynch's disasterous campaign.

I think they're all hoping to be the next Donald Trump – the candidate who can say or do anything and yet nothing sticks.
