Almost lost among the many, many, many stories about the future of President Joe Biden’s Presidential campaign is that Republican Donald Trump only has a few days left in which to select a new scapegoat running mate and Republican Vice Presidential nominee.
According to Aaron Blake of The Washington Post, Trump’s potential choice seems to be down to one of three candidates: North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum; Florida Sen. Marco Rubio; and Ohio Sen. J.D. Vance. Trump needs to make a selection by July 15th, when the Republican National Convention kicks off in Milwaukee.
Burgum is probably the safest choice as a boring, relatively-unknown white guy from North Dakota who also happens to be a billionaire. Vance would be the best choice for Trump’s base, since the Ohio Senator literally wrote a book (“Hillbilly Elegy”) about the MAGA movement. Rubio would add some, uh, color to the ticket, but there is a problem there. As Blake explains:
Both men live in Florida, and one has to move if they want the ticket to get all of Florida’s 30 electoral voters. Usually this isn’t a big deal. Dick Cheney just switched his residency from Texas to Wyoming to be George W. Bush’s running mate in 2000. But Rubio is an incumbent senator from Florida, meaning he might have to promise to leave his home state while still serving as its senator.
Of course, Trump could also pick someone else entirely. What say you, Polsters? Cast your vote below.
As always, we want to know what you THINK will happen, not who you support or would prefer personally. If you had to bet a sizable amount of money on the outcome of this question, who would you choose?

I'm old enough to remember when candidate Trump made offers to potential VP candidates to be "the most powerful VP in US history" so he could
make America great againspend his days on the golf course.I'm old enough to remember when Spy magazine routinely skewered trump in the late 80s. I'm still rooting for atherosclerosis to take him down.
