  1. As the Democratic elites work to remove the Feeble Feckless Fossil from the Democratic nomination, the irony is palpable. These were the same people who installed Biden as the nominee in 2020 to counter the candidacy of Bernire Sanders, which freaked out the powers that be because a Sanders candidacy  would have assured a Trump victory.

You reap what you sow, and for the Democratic party in disarray the harvest will be bitter.

    1. Cheer up, Andrew. I'm convinced that Bernie is sitting out 2024 and saving up his energy for another run in 2028.

Dave Barnes warned us all a long time ago that it was time for the Baby Boomers to get out of the way.

      Sadly, no one listened.

  2. It's time to take the car keys away from Grandpa.  This seems to be the best analogy of what we are facing with Joe Biden.  Driving is the most dangerous thing we do, (Put  down the cellphone while driving.) When it becomes clear that Grandpa can no longer drive safely and poses a risk to himself and others the family has to be firm to take away the keys.  It doesn't diminish your love or respect.  It's just facing the reality of being human and the existential threat at hand.
Grandpa Joe needs to turn over the nomination and pass the torch.

    1. The problem is that now we are told that we need to give Grandpa Joe, Grandma Jill and Uncle Hunter time to process what needs to happen. No word on how much time they will need but there are some deadlines that are coming up soon.

Sure, the Dems can try to do a substitution as late as September if that's how long it takes but that's going to involve some heavy litigation (Frank LaRosa, the Ohio Secretary of State has already served notice as to when he will certify his state's ballot) going before judges who may not be the most sympathetic in forcing elections officials to put Kamala Harris on the ballot in lieu of Joe Biden. (Imagine, if we have to ask the Florida Secretary of State to make a substitution, she declines to do so and we end up front of Eileen Cannon seeking a erit of mandamus. YIKES! And then we get to go before the current SCOTUS!)

And all of this while the freshly-minted Democratic nominee faces separate litigation over her accessing Biden's campaign $$$. I could easily see us having to wait until November or December for a decision by SCOTUS.

How did we ever get to this point in history? I've got a great deal of respect for Dean Phillips who has also had the decency not to shout "I told you so" at top of his lungs.

Did Biden's family and staff actually think they were doing something beneficial for the him and for the country by encouraging him to stay in the race? He should have stepped aside laat summer when Harris, Newsom, Whitmer, Buttiegeig, Warren and anyone else could have put together campaigns, run in the primaries, and had a dignified handoff to a new candidate next month instead of the dumpster fire we are going to face.

Yes, the keys need to be taken away from Grandpa but that should have happened last year before he started driving off the cliff.
