On its face, this was just another incendiary Tweet from Colorado’s patron saint of incendiary Tweeting, Rep. Lauren Boebert:
But as Natalie Musumeci reports for Business Insider, unlike most of Boebert’s social media firehose spray of attention-seeking vitriol, it was possible to determine exactly where the Congresswoman from Rifle Windsor was at the time of the above Tweet: Garfield County Court, where Boebert’s son had a hearing this morning in the felony theft and identity theft case against him:
Colorado GOP Rep. Lauren Boebert on Thursday joined her teenage son at court for the first time to support him in his criminal theft case — and fired off a tweet bashing Vice President Kamala Harris just before her son faced the judge…
Minutes before her son’s case was called, Lauren Boebert posted a message on her official X account at 8:07 a.m. local time, attacking Harris, the Democratic presidential nominee, and her running mate, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz.
…By 8:13 a.m., the Republican congresswoman had taken a seat near her son in the courtroom and was seen on a livestream of the hearing typing on her cell phone. As Tyler Boebert stood before Neiley, his mom could also be seen mouthing something to him from the front row.
Add this to your public official social media protocol: when you’re in a courtroom, always assume you’re being live-streamed. And if you’re in court for something you’re supposed to be paying attention to, which we would hope is everything but definitely includes your son’s imminent trial on multiple felony counts, it’s not a good look to get caught bashing your political opponents on social media instead of focusing on what’s happening in the courtroom. One might be forced to draw the conclusion that this is Boebert’s parenting style in a nutshell, perhaps offering insight as to why the family was gathered in Garfield County Court today to begin with.
But above all, in most of Colorado, “MAGA” is just not a winning brand. In addition to Boebert’s bad timing, her relentless pro-MAGA message won’t help Republicans win any competitive race in our state. With Boebert now cruising to presumed victory in her new much redder congressional district, the best thing she could do to help fellow Colorado Republicans win would be to just stop talking.
Fat chance, we know.

The wheels came off the bus, alright, just not the bus she was referring to. She’s practically a Nostradamus.
Damn kids, let me watch my stories!
So…anyway technology can pinpoint if phone usage was occuring in the court while court was in session? Hmmmm
I wonder if the Windsor PD is ready for all the chaos and lawbreaking that Colorado's Clampett family is about to unleash on their daily lives.
She spent more time at Trump's trial than her own son's. And now, the one time (I know of) that she's there for her son, she's rage tweeting about Trump's opponents? Priorities.
