  1. After reading about massive runs on early voting sites around the country, I was interested to see the statistics coming from Denver County, comparing the first week of 2020 with the first week of 2024.

2020 — 69,459 total, 138 at the one VSPC open

2024 — 19,656 total, 48 at the one VSPC open

I have no idea what explains the massive difference. Perhaps 2020 COVID times allowed more people more time, and they chose to use it on their ballot.

    1. Perhaps due to the 6 page ballot requiring a lot more time?  The city and state voter guides seemed incomplete from prior elections due to the mix of referred measures, constitutional amendments and ballot initiatives.  I had to gather info from a couple of online voter guides to complete my ballot (except I didn't find anything on the judge retentions, so I left all the local judges blank, only voting on the state supreme court justices).

Do you recall how big the 2020 ballot was?
