So next week when I'm at Aurora getting my VA whole body tune up will there be any Central America food left?
Sad.
Next week … probably yes.
Next year … I wouldn’t count on it.
On the other hand … I’ve not yet seen that Seeker Johnson has been able to organize his existing majority to pass ANY appropriation or continuing resolution. They were able to pass the National Defense Authorization Act, albeit with some provisions that make passage in the current Senate uncertain. 8 days left on the current Continuing Resolution, and claims of “getting close” on a follow-up. But “close” is a relative term: “Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La., … All that needs to be hashed out now are its end date and the size of the disaster aid package that will be rolled into the resolution.” In other words, the key details that have stymied the deal since the last time we were told “it will get done.”
some good news from North Carolina:
GOP bid to try to throw out 60K votes in tight judge race fails.
And some bad news: Gop still disempowered the Democratic governor, attorney general, and state Superintendent

How does that work, Kwtree? Aren't the duties of the governor enumerated in their state constitution?
Yes, stripping powers from the governor is probably unconstitutional, and according to the Axios article I linked to, "If history is any guide, Democrats will file legal challenges in the near future."
No,being unconstitutional doesn't seem to bother the GOP at all.
